Looks like you have a wealth of info here dear. That is good cuz I could not say for sure... except to do a google search. Please post a pic when ur project is finished. *4U ><>
Maybe you can do a search on the Lutheran Church and Communion. Hope you find it.
Another design would be a cross. This will make a lovely "keepsake" with the name and date of her First Communion on the pillow. Great gift!! Let us see it when you finish the pillow. Sue
Lr, I think Blessinge has the right idea, if it's for the child's First Communion, do the white pillow like you thought, and I like the praying hands idea, or maybe a white FSL praying little girl angel, and the child's name & the date of her First Communion. I don't think Catholics, Episcopalians & Lutherans are that far apart liturgically, really. I don't think you can go wrong with Blessinge's idea. Luv ya. Marji
Hi,
I am Lutheran, and I think that the praying hands is a great idea, or you could use just about any design that you would for a Catholic first communion. Lutheran symbolism isn't that different from Catholic. Whatever you choose, I am sure that it will be a beautiful and treasured gift.
gee lr2008, I can't help with these sort of things - but I am sure you have it stitched by now - more than likely and you should post a picture so that we see what your project looks like. *4U
Maybe I can help. I am a Lutheran. The pillow is used for kneeling on during communion, usually just for the child's 'first communion.' The praying hands is a great idea, maybe also the child's name and the date of their first communion. Hope this helps you.
Maybe you could go to a Lutheran church nearby and see what they have to say???
I'm not in the know here but u have several answs. I believe I would find a ring bearer pillow pattern & when U find out what else goes on it. U can put it all together *4U
I see you have plenty of help, that I can't add to, I just popped in to see our community in motion and see how helpful all are!;)
perhaps there is a design with praying hands,I think that will do with all kind of believe.succes an *
have had a fossick on google, type in www.hclchurch.org (holy communion lutheran church). This should have something in it for you. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
type in Martin luther in a google search. He was the founder of the lutheran church and there should be some history and information there. I worked in a nursing home that is run by the lutheran church for a few months, but as most of the residents spoke German and I do not, I was not able to find out any of this sort of information, but a Martin Luther search should help. *4U.
My suggestion would be to do a Google search for Lutheran Service practices or go to your local Lutheran church and ask exactly what is required, assuming of course that you may not be able to ask your friend directly. hugs, M
I am afraid I can't help, I don't even know what a communion pillow is for. But I'm glad you're back. Hope you are feeling better. Flower for you.
Lr good to see you again sweetie, sorry I can't help, I'm not familiar with the Lutheran church. Hugs and a flower for you, and I'm sure you'll get an answer soon.
I want to make a communion pillow for my friends niece who is Lutheran. She is 14 years old. I am Catholic so I have no idea what to do for her. I want to make a white pillow with a white ruffel but what do I put on it? do I write something on it? what is appropriate here can anyone tell me what would be the proper thing to do.
I'm with Mops and some of the other girls... don't know what one is... ;-( Hope you can find your answer. xoxo
