Thanks for sharing, Ezze! Yep, I know about the packrat that lives in my brain, Katy. But these would make great little items for craft sales. I have just begun to work with 'Because You Care', a small animal rescue & foster program, & they need stuff like this to sell at fundraisers. It's a win-win-win! Little cost to me, funds for them, and recycling to boot! Doesn't get better than that. Thanks so much again, Ezze, for the great ideas. I will now confess to having probably 2 dozen of these empty jars, just waiting for the right idea, lol. Packrat Supreme Marji
cute idea, sometimes I feel these ideas come from the little pack-rat in us. I too, am guilty of not being able to throw away things that may have another purpose. That is why my sewing room is a disaster, but I know where everything is.
Thanks for telling us about this tip. I just emptied 2 jars yesterday, may give this a try.;)
after washing i place small circle of felt in lid and base of jar then i make a little padded cap for lid like you do for jam jars this can be used for pins glue it with wood glue and hold with rubberband. When dry tie a ribbon around where band was then glue a fsl design to front of jar to decorate.
and for room freshener i disgard lid keep the shaker lid and make a cap as for needle holder and in Aus we have little gumnuts off the trees i fill the jar with them and euculiptus oil.andreplace shaker lid use toy stuffing to create a little dome before adding material this is only tied not glued on and add a fs design use wood glue dries clear and holds well.tip bottle upside down and soak wadding and then stand in toilet room retipup every couple of weeks. always have ha fresh smelling room.
