I do not hope I appear dumb but this has me stumped- what does the abbreviation ISO mean????. I know I can depend on my Cuties family to help poor ole me.

My Dad always said there is no such thing as a dumb question. But there are dumb people because they won't ask questions.

I'm always asking question, My GM told me if you ask something, you may look dumb one time, if you don't ask you will be dumb forever.."It is your choice" she said...******

In the embroidery world it means "in search of". Many other meanings elsewhere.

ISO also means "Is Seeking Only", very much the same as ddoersch's meaning.

I didn't know either...I copied from Tech Terms.
Stands for "International Organization for Standardization." Yes, technically the acronym should be "IOFS," but I guess ISO sounds better. The ISO works with standards institutes from over 150 countries to develop technology and product standards. These standards lead to a more efficient, safer, and cleaner development of products. It also leads to more standardized products for consumers.

The ISO is important to the computer industry, since the organization standardizes many of the technologies used by your computer hardware and software. For example, the ISO 9660 standard defines a file system used by CD-ROM media. CDs formatted using this standard can be used on any operating system that supports the ISO 9660 standard, including Windows, Mac, and Unix systems.

Jrob, you must know everything!!! Thanks for answering so many questions that I haven't asked, but wanted to know!!

Some tend to use a lot of abbreviations on here. I guess depending upon your generation you may or may not know the meaning. I am tring to keep up with them also.
