Just got home from the Gunnedah swap meet. Lots of junk, bric a brac etc for sale. Came across a lady selling embroidered towels, hand towels etc. Lots of designs I would say are definately copyright, including modern day Betty Boop. I did not give my opinion about the designs but I did give her this website to take a look. I was good and kept my money in my wallet. hugs Helen

Boring, seems to be too much junk. I did not buy anything, but did go to the dog show which was in the same area and saw some beautiful fluffy children trotting their stuff. hugs Helen

Good for you, Helen! People just don't realize how much trouble they can get into selling licensed designs without a license. Even if you purchase one of those Brother Disney machines, it states clearly that you can't sell products made with the designs, they are for personal use only. Maybe she won't get caught, but if she does she'll be in a lot of trouble. Good of you to give her this website. Big hugs, Marji

When I see a newbie at DaWanda selling stuff with Disney-motifs (as example) I write them a friendly message that they can come in trouble and it will cost a lot of money. Most of them never thought about copyright and that you need a license to sell those designs. We have some attourneys here that send you a note without a mandate from the copyright-owner just for their own purse :o(
Greetings, Bettina

I did not ask here where she got her designs from, but she did have Betty Boop on the motorcycle and in evening dress. The Old Betty Boop are in Public Domain now but not the new sexy ones, which were the ones she had. hugs Helen

I dont think she knew they are copyright. Maybe she bought the designs from other areas and was not informed. hugs Helen

It's difficult, isn't it, when we see things that should not be happening. I think you took the sensible path in giving this lady this website. Hopefully she'll take you up on the suggestion.
You've done your bit whatever she does.

Maybe she will take a look, I do hope so. I did not see her sell anything but she does apparently visit lots of the weekend markets. hugs Helen
