I ased a question about losing my Blue dongle fo 3 D viking software.Have had no respose at all.Maybe i am looking in the wrong place. Please help.

I am not so sure that getting someone elses dongle will help you at all. The numbers needed to activate it are registered to your software and I know you can't just share those. I do know you can download the software and not register it. Good news is that you can still use the Organizer part of your software without the dongle. You can see your designs, cut and paste, delete, move them to proper folders. You can also still convert to other formats. What you have lost is the ability to edit or change colors, etc.

My friend in CA purchased an upgrade from 4d to 5d and the dealer sold her the software that adapted to her existing dongle. So they don't always make you buy the new dongle, not that this will help you.

I have 4d and the 4dEXTRA and I love it. Haven't found another program that I like better...but I do have Wilcom free program and Buzz tools which allows me to covert all my designs at once. I have saved alot of designs in many formats over the years and wanted to get organized. It took too long with 4d to do each folder one at a time...Buzz tools does all folders at one time! From what I understand the dongle comes with the program, you lose the dongle you buy a new program. Sorry. Now if it is damaged you can get a replacement when you return the old one. Maybe somebody on ebay is selling the 3D system cheap since it's an older version. Good luck. and like so many others mine stays in the computer.

You can buy a new dongle and they can assign your personal id number to it. You can get it through a dealer or call viking directly. That is if you do not want to upgrade.I keep my dongle in hub so I don't damage it taking it in and out constantly. You can find then on a computer store. I found a flexible one and works really good.

When I traded from 3D to 4D I had to give up the 3D dongle for the 4D. Since It is now 5D I doubt if you can get a 3D dongle. The dongles are also registered so I don't know about transferring ownership. I also keep my dongle in a hub so I don't damage it taking it in and out of the computer. I wish you luck in finding one. They are expensive.

Kate, I saw you post in personals - I am so sorry to hear of your recent heart surgery, so happy to know you are home and recovering well. Your husband was a sweetie to help to clean up - however the loss of the blue dongle for your 3D Husqvarna Software is awful. It still could be around - just tucked in some place. You might need to purchase the 3D software again and as some have mentioned it is now at the 5D version of that software and that is a lot expensive - do you have a dealer close by that can help you?

I haven't seen anyone have any results with the replacement of dongles, I am so sorry!!!! I do know when you upgrade to 4D you get a new dongle, I think you do, anyway! Maybe you can find someone selling the whole system?? Viking has been NO help with anything like this, that I do know. Your dealer? But they probably won't be able to help either. You are in the right place, but there's no answer to the problem. I really feel your pain!! If & when you find it, put it in one of those connectors that will keep it from being damaged putting it in & out of the computer...I did that as I just knew I'd do something to it! I placed mine in one of the back usb ports & leave it there. Thankfully my hubby just shuts the sewing room door instead of helping me! Here's hoping & praying you find it!!

In hosp recently for heart surgery. Returned home to find husband had tidied up my STUFF in sewing room.I now cant find Blue dongle for 3D huskvarna software.I am gutted that viking say they no longer supply the blue dongle.Can anyone help me.? I am willing to pay for it.
He has also thrown out lots of paper work
but the dongle i cant do without.Thank you for any ideas re this problems. Kate

You are in the right place. We have many cuties from around the world so in any given time zone there should be a cutie to help in a 24 hour period of time. Check back every now and then and we will try to keep your posting ttt (to the top) for all to see. There could be a cutie out there that no longer needs their dongle and you could work something out.

You have to return a dongle when you upgrade, so I don't think anyone would have a spare one.

According to the leaflet that has the installing codes on it you can't get free replacements for lost dongles, you have to buy a new program (and that would be 5D by now). So I always keep it in a safe place especially when going on a holiday. There are replacements to be had for damaged dongles, don't think they are free, but I doubt you could get them for older ones like 3D.
