I just heard that there was an earthquake in Texas this morning. I am glad I did not feel it. It would be rather unsettling to feel the earth move on Sept 11th.
Sunday Morning Story:
An earthquake rattled portions of the Big Country early Sunday waking some people up a little earlier than they expected.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports a magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook the ground about 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Its epicenter was 11 miles northeast of Snyder. The 4.4 magnitude makes it the largest earthquake to occur in the Big Country in the last few years.
According to the USGS, people report feeling the earthquake from as far away as Irving, San Angelo, and Lubbock.
Dyanne Spease reported feeling the earth rattle in Clyde on the KTAB Facebook page. In response, user Tony Rogers said, "Yes, my bed shook! I thought I was going crazy but relieved others felt it!"
Kathryn Grand Boland reported feeling the earthquake in Abilene. She also reported it being felt by family members inside Hendrick Medical Center.
My brother lives in Clyde Tx and Hendrick Medical Center is where both my brother and sister work. About a half mile from where I live. These are scary times we live in.
