I've had my editor on my computer for a couple years with no problems. I only use it for certain things as I haven't had time to just play and see how to do other things, but will someday.
I'm glad you got some positive answers. I don't have this program, I have Janome's Digitizer Pro, and I know that when I am digitizing it takes up a LOT of memory. That's why I don't have anything else open when I'm doing that, generally, because sometimes if I'm doing a lot of changes and testing things out, it will max out the memory. I can "undo" at least 30 changes I've made, so it has to remember all those files, and that does slow things down. That could be a reason people are having problems, is lack of memory space because these digitizing programs are pretty big. That's why when buying a computer, if you're going to do digitizing at all, get a "gaming" computer, one that has lots and lots of RAM, things will go more smoothly. I'm so glad we have this Community to be able to help each other like this, it's really neat! Hugs to all, Marji
I had not thought of that. Good answer. I just got a new computer that has a good graphics card and lots of memory. I haven't had any trouble at all with My Editor, so was worried when others were calling it My Virus. I don't need any trouble there!! :) Thank you!!
Thank you everyone for your answers!! I was being concerned that perhaps I had installed something along with the software that I didn't want. IF there is nothing else running besides the editing program, then I'll be a happy camper. I have started learning to use it to edit my designs, and it is really cool and easy. I have a limited budget, so cannot just go buy something like I used to be able to do. Thank you for taking then time to answer my questions!! Happy sewing everyone!! :)
I think I must try DL it again. In the past I have DL it twice and on both occasions it changed all my files. I do not know if this has happened to anyone else. I also wonder if it is compatable with SewIconz. Thank you for the question.
I have been using it and true sizer and never had troubles with either one, I use both on my XP when playing around with sizes and such and use it on my Vista when hooked up to the brother se-400, again no troubles. Hope this helps.
I am actually using the purchased version namely Wings Modular but have My Editor installed also, purely as I had "lost" the image pallette on Wings Modular once. Luckily it was a pure finger problem and when I retrieved it I went back to the Modular version. I run on Vista and also uses Kaspersky. I've never had any problems on either programs.
justonlyme, I've had 'My Editor' installed in my XP computer all year..still haven't learned it all, but I can delete parts of designs, change colors, resize, change format and I read that it can convert clipart to stitches (just haven't studied that part yet) At first I had some difficulty getting out of the program, but after I learned how to exit it, I have been LOVING it! Yes, my computer froze & had to restart a few times until I got the hang of closing it. I've learned I can double click a folder and see all the designs inside. Sometimes I use Pulse Ambassador if I only want to change format, but I'm very pleased.
