not sure that it is what you search
Not sure where you are to advise where to find the lace, but you could just use a lace trim and buy a wider lace that you could trim the motif off of for the center.
I will tell you that I have this pattern, and have made it. Go down at least one size than is suggested, it is very loose fitting. IMNSHO!
Here is a freebie you might make work

Loosie, I stumbled across these necklines for a 4x4 hoop at Dainty Stitches, and they're in the $1.00 Bargain Bin! Ten different necklines for $1, can't beat that, and Miems Kemp is a good digitizer. Her site is changing, so you need to go get them FAST, not wait, she's taking lots of stuff down. Hugs, Marji
Well the www.laceheaven.com did not come up when I
did Submit. Try this Maureen
Hi, I don't know where you are. There was a store in
Mobile, Al. that specialized in lace, tricot and
lingerie findings. They are no longer opened to the
public. They only sell on the internet. They bought
things from Vanity Fair before they moved to Mexico.
It was a fun place to visit and they also had partial cones of thread of all sorts. I think this is their Link. I miss them.Maureen
Thanks, I live close the the USA and Canada border, in British Columbia not much here I'm afraid, nearest fabric store is an hour away in Canada, and 1.5 hours in the USA. Thanks for the info, I war just looking at crochet patterns and I may go that route, it just takes soooo long to make the crochet, and I have been soiled!
Here are some at Design By Sick that would fit your 4x4 hoop and are 50 cents.
Just a thought, Loosie, if your lucky daughter is actually going to wear this gown to sleep in, free standing lace might be a bit stiff. But if you still want to do this, just find a nice lace pattern like for going around a tablecloth, you know, a bunch of squares or rectangles that you sew together, and make it as long as you want. There is some very nice lace at Dainty Stitches, in the bargain department. I'm going to add the link to her home page, because she's re-doing her website, too, things change every time I go there. Best of luck to you, hugs, Marji
Thank you, my daughter loves baby doll gowns, I have made two for her and she wears them every chance she gets.
I am unsure what you are willing to pay for something like this - but there are plenty of LACE designs out there - that you surely could use.
Thank you, we have limited fabric stores here, and lace is like next to impossible to find. I'll check all these links, again thanks.
