Sorry to hear about your computer Shirlene, good luck with a solution. I hope you can be up and running again soon.
Carla, so far - I still can't get it to work. I am on Rick's to get here today.
Hi Shirlener, bad times with your computer problems. Does it turn on at all? If so what colour is the screen? if not can you hear the hardrive working?
*
Not good hun, you could pull the harddrive out and incorporate this into a new comp. But by the sounds of it you'll need a tech to take a look. I could list a number of what it could be but this would just be wasting your time, if you dont know the basics. Good luck hope the PC Fairies visit in the night and sprinkle magic PC dust on it. Hugs *
Cutoff :( basics. Hope the magic fairies sprinkle dust on your poorly pc very soon.
Hugs*
Better yet - email me at cfidl@yahoo.com. It will be OK. christine LLDS!
Hi shirlene, I had the correct cord, I just needed a usb cable. It took about 5 minutes to download my entire "my Documents" off this one harddrive. I just renamed the whole folder and sent it to "my documents". I will take pics and send you, I need your email and then we can exchange info and I can mail it out!
welcome to my little world of horrors. Mine died the other day, we brought out the old one, then it died last night. Black screen. Hubby got the newer one back up for now. Hope it stays that way...
Must have been a BAD day for Computers. I have heard of 3 playing up yesterday. Mine was one of them- all sorted now.
Pull out the hardrive - buy the cord that connects it to whatever PC - they are about $20.00. make it an external hardrive! christine all will be OK
The harddrive comes out of the computer - then you use a special cord to hook it to your new computer and "download" or transfer your designs. I have the cable, and power cord. I will mail it to you if you promise to send it back. christine
I know it sounds scary, but really it is not that bad. Just have to make sure the connections are correct.
I an't afford a new PC, but if I were - I would salvage the old parts - I guess like you did - how do you use the drive without a case?
I'm looking at it, and think I am missing a cord. I will see my cousin who will tell which one it is and remind me how to do it, so I can write directions for you. Any twelve year old should be able to pull the hard drive. I even did it once. Hang in there! If it is not the hard drive - you are OK! LLDS! christine
Hope you get sorted soon and that it is not a major issue causing the problem.
hope your pc is not too ill and you have a good tech will be looking forward to you new postings.......soozie
I don't have a tech - if I did - I would be up and running. Just me! Thanks *4U
I feel for you! I have had some PC problems lately also...what a bummer! Good to know that you are both OK though.Keep in touch when you can.
Hugs, Nadyne
Nadyne, thanks - I hope your PC problems resolved themselves and things are ok for you.
hope it will work soon again, but great you can use Rick's for now!hugs G.
come to denver, I will scramble you up one from my cousin. christine LLDS!
Christine, that is a pretty long drive - but I bet it would be worth it to met you. Thanks!
It is surely bad when our PC's don't work. I have a laptop for backup. This one that I am on is fairly new. Only about year and half. I sure spend a lot of time on it. Good luck with it.
That is about how old mine is - maybe 2 1/2 years old. I am more worried about all my design files.
Hope it's fixed soon. Nothing worse than your puter being down. I know first hand. *4U
Thanks for letting us know. We would have all wondered if you all were OK. Hope you get your PC fixed soon. Hugs, Judy
When I use my husband's computer, I bring my own keyboard and mouse. He has a notebook computer, and I am just not used them. I plug in my own peripherals, and am then just fine with it.
Seems like computer problems are abundant here lately. Do you use a desktop or notebook? If you use a notebook, then try taking the battery out, disconnecting all of your cords, and then reconnecting everything. Sometimes just that little bit is enough to create interference. If you are using a desktop, try the same thing. It sounds redundant, but you would be surprised at how many have that problem. Also, if you are using a UPS, try resetting that. One power fluctuation and it could have shut itself off to protect your equipment. Good luck. I hope it is something little, and a PICNIC error...Problem In Chair, Not In Computer. :)
So far - nothing sort of opening it up - has worked. Time will tell. thanks *4U
What a dreadful way to start your day. I'd try unplugging everything and check your outlet with a lamp to see if it is working or try another outlet.
I've done this, more than once, so maybe it's worth checking. If this something sudden, out of nowhere. I have bumped the power cord, or moved the computer while cleaning and pulled the power cord out of the wall. If it's not turning on, and has always worked fine - it might be something simple. Wouldn't that be grand!
Stick with it and using his keyboard will become easier. I know this from having to use a different computer when traveling. Hopefully, it won't be long and you can be with us full time again.
I don't have any other option - at this time - thanks I am getting better at it. hehehe! Thanks *4U
We will miss you. Hope the computer is fixed soon.
Oh NO! Life without a computer is difficult. I do hope it can be fixed. The switch that turns computers on and off does goe out sometimes. Good luck.
Terri, that is so strange that you just said that very same thing to Cheryl just the other day - I don't know how to check to see if it is the switch. thanks *4U
Hope you are able to figure out why your pc is not cooperating! Take good care! Hugs, Laura*
Laurie, thanks dear - I hope that I do - as well - right now - however - it seems it is gone. *U2
