Hi Cuties! I have a special question. I am considering renting a table at craft store to sell some embroidery items. What I need to know is what types of things are good sellers and how would you price them? I'm new to this so just need guidance. Thanks.

I am just doing some things for a stall, so may have to get back to you to see how well they sell!! But what i have been making is little signs for perhaps the frigde of similar with sayings. Such as 'Smokin's a NoNo' and 'keep out of sewing room' etc. I intend making some calico Xmas Ham Bags with embroidery on them.

Our market here seems to change each year. Bears and ducks used to be top sellers. Ones you stuff and put cute clothes on them. Then Bunnies became real popular. The past 2 years my baby items have been hot items. Baby blankets, bibs, tooth fairy pillows. Also if you are in an area where people camp a lot I sell a lot of fleece blankest with camping things on them. EMBlibrary has the cutest bears (boy and girl) roasting marshmallows on an open fire. I do them then do my own words above them. "Campers do it by the fire" Couldn't keep them last year. EMB also has things like hotdogs on a stick, pickles, mustard ketchup etc and I also combine them together for campers. Burp cloths from pre fold diapers are great for babies. My next best are hand or kitchen towels with cute sayings or just an initial. Bath towel sets. I've done craft shows for ove 30 years now and it's sometimes hard to keep up with what peopls want and buy. Inexpensive things are always good. Hope this helps. Good Luck Hope this gives you a few more ideas. Opps one other thing that has always bee a good seller for me is -Mas stockings with names. I do a few up with names then take orders for people to pick up the following week at my farmers market here. I get $4.00 each. Always have them pay in advance for them. If doing just one show then you have to make arrangements to get them to the customer wither by mail and charge for postage or meeting them somewhere.

To answer your question about pillowcase dresses I found a a couple of links to help you get a visual. Add ric rac fancy ribbons cute embroidery and these little things are hard to keep in stock. I have dialup and no pictures would load for me and the link isn't either

You are sure to get tons of advise and every area of the conutry is different. I am in the rural south in the USA. Children's items are the best sellers. But remember when doing that ever so cute bib or burp cloth that these items WILL get soiled and not to put a time consuming design on them or over price them. Stick to the cute sayings or applique animals. Have a couple with a boy and girls name and take orders for others. My next biggest sellers are tooth fairy pillows and the pillow case dresses.
Now as for non children items, the unusalthings sell best. or just the thing you can't pick up on a regular basis in the stores. ITH items that are best are the USB holders, Keychains, and the little boxes and bowls.
FSL items have to have the right crowd but the bookmarks and ornaments are my best sellers.
And requardless of any "rules" on pricing never sell an item for more than you are willing to pay for it yourself.
Aprons and pillows are my most popular over all sellers.
Hope this helps some, I have been a craftshow seller for over 15 years.

Sorry have write my comment in your other post incl. links.
Like debwebster said many of the itH-designs are wonderful for markets. A friend of mine has made several markets and her advice was to have also some "cheap" articles like key-fobs, patches for kids, simple bookmarks so people stopp at your table ;o)
Greetings, Bettina

I would like to know the answer too, I am sure there are many experienced ladies who can advise. In my opinion, I would do "In the Hoop" items such as little trinket boxes or FSL bookmarks. If you have a lot of time, it would be nice to make up wall hanging for a child's bedroom, using one of the fun alphabets at Cute!! Good luck.
