I can't really help you since I'm still a beginner; but I sure would love to see the result !
When my eldest daughter was first married and I made her dress - long before I even knew about embroidery machines. I made her label in satin and just wrote and signed it in pen. She still has the dress and label firmly attached. We are so lucky that times have changes. Please post the finished result. Sarah.
If my daughter would have asked me to sign her wedding dress (she had a simple wedding with an off the rack dress and very short notice), I would have written a message with the text of my embroidery machine around the bottom hem of her dress with a thread that matched the dress. I'm doing that now with their wedding quilt. I made the quilt blocks and quilted them for a quilt as you go project. Now each of the block will be put together with a binding type of sashing, which will have words of encouragement, love, and all of the mushy wedding stuff incorporated in to the quilt. But with that, the text will be stitched with a thread that will stand out. Good luck. Are you going to post a picture of the dress in "projects" after you finish?? I would like to see!! :)
I love the idea of a wedding quilt! Maybe I'll do that with the table runners from the reception!
That is a good idea. I wanted to get everyone to sign a book at my daughter's reception (delayed because her hubby is in the military and not available now) and try to digitize the notes and put them together in a wall hanging or quilt, but don't know if I'll be able to pull that one off or not.
I like the idea of your signature too. Good luck with your under taking. Lots of great suggestions. Kay
love to see the finished lable and the dress after the wedding of course...soozie
You could stitch it on white ribbon or satin and stitch it inside the dress.

Thank you so much for your help!

I cannot digitize but the idea of Diana with the writing in a seam reminds me on a tiny font I have seen for babyblankets. Maybe this is something you can use? Or sewdoctor can help you (love her labels and wanna thank her that she is always such a helpful person).
Greetings, Bettina
Thank you Bettina! I'll have to look at that font for future reference.
Sewdoctor is very helpful! For which I am very grateful!!
I should have put that here, so you would see you had another reply!
What do you want? What size, what should it say and type of font, and format?
I would like their names, the date of the wedding and that it was sewn with love by her mother. I know...It's alot to put on a label. I was thinking about 2"X3" like a large clothing label. I don't have a preference as to the font, just very simple. I need ART format but I can convert. Thank you for asking.
Trying to figure out how you get me the info. I don't really want to post my email in an open forum..
If you want to post your info here..I will upload to DBC
