For years upon years, I kept a bag of socks that either had a missing mate, had been outgrown or had a little tiny flaw or some such thing. They were perfectly good socks, but no one wore them for one reason or another. So when I was cleaning a couple of months ago, I ran across that sock bag, and used my Rules of Cleaning to deduce that it was going. It hadn't been used, needed or touched in a year. So they went in the trash. NOW I find a good reason to have them. It figures. Oh well. Murphy's Law got me again. I hope you enjoy your sock addiction. Sounds like fun!!
Oh what brilliant replies you have had to your comments. I am sure a sock addiction is far cheaper and healthier than a alcohol or other addiction. Perhaps we need to check socks out in our bit of the world and see if we can get you some very unusual ones
You do such nice sock monkeys, etc. Good thing you managed to get some at good prices! It's always nice to have a stash instead of wanting to do something and you don't have what you need.
On the way home from my Ladies day, my girlfriend was driving. I asked if there was a certain shop in that group of shops. Funny - the car just turned into the shops and all 5 of us raced into the shop and bought socks.
You may already know this. You can buy the material
the socks are made of. It is usually near the minkie. I actually saw some t shirts made of it and
thought of you. Enjoy your new found hobby! Maureen
I guess which Country you live in, but will certainky have a look next time I am that way. Really don't need any more.
Wait a minute. I thought you needed the socks to make monkeys for the holidays. Do you have sock monkeys? I thuoght you were in the "monkey business"! hehe LLDS!

Not out late at night, If I am not tucked up in bed I am busy doing craft at night. I went to the shops on a Sunday Morning.
Well your sock animals are so cute and If your getting socks for a low price... What a fun inexpensive hobby. I would like to try them. They'd be really cute gifts.
This reminds me of my gd when she was little;she would fill up her play tent with all her stuffed toys and sit among them, happy as a kitten...maybe you could fill your room with sock people and enjoy them, lol.
Sounds so familar....I would have bought a lifetime supply....:D
Well at least your addiction isn't bad for your health.....I don't think. We know who to contact when we have cold feet that need warming...lol
As long as you had fun and you enjoyed the experience!!! At least you wont get cold feet!!! HA HA
I do worry about myself and my obsessions, BUT I am not alson as my girlfriend is just as bad.
Is this an Aussie thing?
I make my statement to the world with my hand-knitted woollen socks. The more 'far out' they are the better I like them.
...... and now, I am in the middle of teaching my sewing/quilting teacher how to knit her own socks.
BTW - IGA has those microfibre bed socks discounted right now. There was a lionish/tigerish-coloured pair. Couldn't help thinking of you when I saw them; nearly bought some, but then decided that Adelaide would surely have better bargains than we have.
AlmaG.
Alma, If you do find them please buy them for me and post . Let me know the cost and I will send you the money. Lion, Tiger, Giraffe, Frog colours. But not any more than $3 for the 2 pair of socks in the bundle.
I never wore socks since I was in school until I started working out in the late 1980's and silly socks are now my signature, my favorite have pink flamingos on them. I have Mickey Mouse socks, Christmas socks, Valentine socks , St Patrick's day socks, and Halloween socks. Even my grand children roll their eyes at my socks. Kay
I will now think of you when I see a flamingo. Can't say I have ever seen them on socks though.
