Congratulations! Getting a used machine is kind of like adopting instead of giving birth - LOL. I adopted my BrotherULT2003D just about 3 years ago and I am so glad I did. One of the best things I did was to take it to the Brother dealer to have it cleaned and tuned. Then they offered me the service contract. I paid about $350 USD for three+one years and it has been worth every cent. I'm a bit rough on machines, and I still have two years left on my contract. We have bonded quite nicely and I do love her as if I had given birth - He He. Enjoy Your new baby!
I only have 2nd hand machines. Ha, ha that leaves money left over for supplies. Glad you have a bigger hoop now and you are happy with your new baby
Good for you! There's nothing wrong with second hand, often it's because they have updated their machine. I recently updated mine and I too will sell my Husqvarna Designer 1 in the near future to someone who has out grown their machine and wants a bigger machine that can do larger embroideries.
Hi lyns, I too got brave enough to purchase on Ebay. Mine is a Pfaff 2170. It was a bit scary using Ebay, but turned out to be good. Vicki from South Austraia [Eyre Peninsula]
You should post a pic of your machine for us to see. Is it just for emb. or does it sew too? Congradulations!!!! Happy stitching, Jane
I wish I'd checked on buying a used emb. machine, that way I would have more money to spend on everything else one has to have to do emb!!!!
lyns here is to happy sewing on your new machine. I have the Galaxie 3000 and love it. Currently I am missing it as it is having a new floppy disc drive. Mine was not new either but is very loved by me
That is wonderful, can you tell us how much it cost and where you are? I want one too! christine LLDS!
Hey Christine. I'm in ACT, Aust. I paid $1500 on ebay. Was unsure but asked lots of questions. They "seemed" genuine and I figured it's a BROTHER so I couldn't go wrong. * for all. xx
