Just had an idea for the "QUILLOW "
Hubbby is in a wheelchair and when wint comes his legs can get cold from the icy blasts. now if i did a lap quilt but placed another panel behind it that would fasten with hook and loop on the one lonf side he could then pull that behind his legs and so stop the draft. placeing a couple of quilted pockets on the front will also enable him to carry his gloves, wallet, inhaler and bottle of water in them and so be able to get to them with ease.
wil lhave to work on this one as i hae made him a cushion for his wheelchair that has a hang down flap that rests behind his legs and has pockets in it.again to carry items in during the summer IE. his bottle of water and his inhalers.
Its good to be adaptable. annie in the uk
A very nice idea Annie, have done a couple myself for gifts and they are always appreciated...
I love these i made them for Mom & Dad years ago i aso made an extra pillow so it looked like they had two pillows but one was a Quillow (thats what we call these in enlish) Quillow
Thank you for telling me about the ones you made they are such fun and i think i just may follow your idea and make another cushion to match .
So happy that you think them worthy of praise To think that if my daughter had not wanted to make her friend a quilt for Christmas this time last year, then i would never have thought to try my hand at them.

yes in australia we know them as quillows they are great and annie yours is beautiful......soozie
I was given a Quillow some 15 years ago. I tried to remember what it was called and glad you mentioned it. My kids loved it because they could put their feet in the pillow pocket.
Annie this is brilliant. Its the fabric you got at the NEC? You have created a great piece of work. Sadly my NEC fabric is still fabric :( I need to do some sewing I think
yes some of this is the fabric purchased at the NEC, all the gold and orange ones are those and the black, brown and cream are sheeting purchased localy. The central kaleidascope blocks were made from a double bed duvet cover that i purchased from a charity shop.I have tried to do several different styles of blocks on this one
