Happy/Sad news. Had a great day at the Market even though it drizzled almost all of the day. Sun came out just as we were packing up to come home. Luckily I have Thick but very clear piece of plastic to protect my craft items. The plants don't mind the rain. The Sad news-----Lionus, Leonardo, Fido (Dog) and Pink Rabbit have left Home. Have more socke to make a second version to replace all of them.

Thanks for this piccie. I couldn't really see Fido properly so I saved the photo & enlarged it to see him better. He does look cute with his long ears & tail. It's quite a collection you had....

This is the only photo of have of Fido. Guess I didn't take one of him as he is Black and very pale pink and didn't photograph well. He is in the front of the group.Another Girlfriend bought the Pink & white monkey from me today so another has left home

Good to hear that they sold well & hopefully went to good homes. I don't think I recall seeing Fido? I'm sure he looked just as good as the others.

I am not sure I listed Fido. Hope I took a photo of him. Must go and have a look.

What great news! I was at the dollar store today, and they had a whole wall of nice fuzzy, striped socks and I thought of you! What wonderful critters you'd create out of them! Hugs and *'s, Deb

Yvonne. The weather makes it more interesting. Just have to watch towards the hill and I can see the rain coming. Then it is a mad rush to get the plastic on before it reaches the Market.

It is actually good news - getting something sold is better than not selling anything. Now, your friends are making new friends, making someone very happy!

I have to keep thinking - "I can make another" or none of my pieces would ever leave home! I tend to give them away - so I hope selling them will give me as much satisfaction. My daughter is doing a fair! Gotta pay for the thread! Live Laugh Download Stitch! christine

I know that if I sell one I can make another to replace it. Like you it pays for the goods to make another. I don't make a lot of profit, but just a little extra pocket money.

Wel;l - glad that you sold some....We too have been having rain, snd the craft shows were rained out. We have had 6" in the last day and a half.

Gee 6". That is a lot of rain in one go. I could go into the Hall, but I was talking to someone from inside and they said it was really dead inside the halls and they pay a lot more than I do for their site.

Lyn, I am happy/sad for you - in the end - I guess it turned out well - will you get any new sock animals to take back tomorrow - or was Market over today? Keep on grinning & stitching dear.

Shirlene, Couldn't do another Market today too tired, but thank goodness it is only that one day and even though there are markets around every weekend. I only do this one which is once a month.

Hi Lyn - I was speaking to one of my oldest friends who lives in Robertstown and she said it was drizzling most of the day there too. Then I spoke with my OLDEST friend (who I've know since I was 9!!!) and she said down at Willunga it was sunny most of the day! Here in Newcastle it was 24 sunny and quite windy - then overcast. Our weather seems to be all over the place!

Glad you had a great day and sold your sock animals. Oh! well back to the drawing board for some more designs. I am sure there are lots of animals you can do! What about a black and white skunk! - A Magpie or anything in black and white - I'm a real fan!!!! Love Chris

Chris, I am not sure that Skunks would sell very well here is Australia. As far as the Magpie - I am not that good and not sure how to make one from a pair of socks. Food for thought though.

pennifold by pennifold 10 Oct 2011

O.K. then what about a Panda? Love Chris

mi30kaja by mi30kaja 10 Oct 2011

Chris, I am going to make a Panda. My Late DH had so many socks and I have kept the best ones thinking I could wear them over winter. I am sure he had some New White ones and plenty of Black ones. so I am going to raid his drawer.

A Lion and my little dog went to the same home. The lion to a girl and the dog to a boy. Think the boy wanted the lion. Might have to make sure I have more than one lion. My other lion went earlier.

by capoodle 09 Oct 2011

That's not sad. They went to good homes and now you know they sell well and you can make more. The hard thing about giving them a name is letting them go. With your new batch maybe you should skip giving them a name.

No I am thinking of making little tags to go with the animals with their names on the tag. I might just call them the same as the one I sold.
