Last Christmas I made shopping bags/ tote bags with a clear plastic pocket on the outside, large enough to put a photo in, embroidered around the edge of the pocket and added 3d FSL flower etc. They were used for golf, ballet, swimming and to carry library books. I felt they were well loved.
Last year I bought simple fleece throws and embroidered names on them. The little kids had names with a cute little design. The older teenagers had just their names. But their blankets matched the colors of their cars so they all ended up keeping them in their cars. It was a great feeling to know I finally picked out something they thought was cool.
I did Fleece hats, mitts and scarves embroidered snowflakes and initials - used Simplicity Crafts 7005, they loved them.. Did USB Cases for the guys and there are always the candy cane holders in DBC - like Chris'idea with the Oven Mitts - you have a few ideas now all you have to do is decide Marie...Hugs & *4U Glenda x0x0x
Just a thought..... present your pressies in drawstring bags with individual names embroidered on them and maybe a small design to suit the recipient.
Bags are always so useful for 'things' for adults and 'treasures' for children.

Marie, you just have to stop and think - what would that person really want - how can you get it to them and use your wonderful embroider to accent it or make it more personalized for them to cherish.
Bookmarks, ornaments, towels, pillows, pillowcases, dish towels, door hangers, magnets, wall hangings, bedding, quilts, curtians, and clothes.
For the older girls(& some of the adults) I buy an inexpensive plain t-shirt and embroider/applique a Christmas design on them. They like the t-shirts better than a dress as they can 'free range' on what to wear with it. Yes I forgot how fussy teenagers can be ggggg hugs&sparkles from minicow
Tissue holders for the grown ups the ladies that is, they are soooo handy for in your handbag. Made clocks for everyone to go with hobbies clubs they belong to.Also aprons as mentioned before, were loved and shopping bags so popular now with a nice design or letter embroidered on it. Good luck
How about pillowcases colored to one of their sheet sets. Kids love fabric with their favorite characters on them and flannel is good. I have probably done over 50 pairs. Small kids also embroidered sweatshirts in coolder areas or T-shirts in warmer climates. Big kids like these also.

Embroider His and Hers on hems or given names or other sayings or nicknames. I put names on narrow trim between case and hem, name space or two small symbol space or two name, symbol all around trim.

How about placemats. One year I made fleece throws and they loved them. I like the oven mitt idea (I just got a couple and haven't done them yet). Fancy aprons or BBQ aprons.
Marie, I am making puzzle games for the little GreatGrans, I have drawn an animal in 6 sections, head, body, legs, etc. Digitized as Trace on my 4D, and am making a little satin bag for a die and an animel, and give 1-2 to each little one. If I had a pic, I would show you. This is much work but turning out sew cute. Hugs, Judy
Great hint about the oven mitts often times we forget that our time might be better spent when we can purchase something so inexpensively and embelish it-thanks so much.
Lots of good ideas in the projects section!
Hi Marie,
For the adult women what about a lovely Oven Mitt and matching tea towel for the kitchen. I've made some for my ladies luncheon for Christmas this year and they've turned out great. I cheated and bought the oven mitt, undid the side and embroidered designs on them and then resewed them. For the men - you could always do something along the lines of their sports e.g. a hand towel with a golfing design, football, swimmer etc. etc.
For children - I'm making dresses for our grand-daughters in cotton. Of course here in Australia for Christmas it's stinking hot not unlike Europe where it will be cold. Mittens, fur wraps for around the neck, little hats etc. etc. (I didn't make this hat and mittens) I don't know how old your grandchildren are, but ours are under 4, so dresses are always welcome.
I'm sure there will be lots of other suggestions.
Good luck with whatever you do. Love and blessings Chris
I meant my comments above for you but put it in the wrong box--anyway, thanks for your great ideas
What about bath towels with their monogram?
I did bath towel with name, hand towel 3 initials and wash cloth first name initial both stitched and applique.
