where can i find instructions to make a shrug?
Not the bolero type with sleeves but the kind that is like a short cape with neck opening neck that slips over the shoulders and reaches just to the elbows.I don't want it gathered at the neck.
I do want to use iether fleece or felt.
so i can embroider or embllish it.

89895I hope this is what you are looking for. I have seen it in filmy fabric to fleece and it looks great. Take fabric 45 inches wide and about 1 1/2 yards long. Adjust up or down in yardages as needed. Fold into half and then fold into half again (selvages together). Cut up center on fold for necline. Make a gentle curve around bottom edges if desired rather than corners. Serge around all edges with a 3 thread rolled hem.

24276Do you have Simplicity patterns there? I have seen this type of pattern for girls and women. Not sure if there are free ones on the net I will look, I have seen them for knitters not really for sewing.

I did see one but can't remember where its not as loose as a cape. Has no sleeves and is shaped over the shoulders. with buttoned front, I can put a nice collar onto it so no problem Guess i will have to get daughter to measure me around my boobs and with my arms at my side to get the all round size then from shoulder to bottom or desired length elbow length would be about right.
will then get my roving out and make me a nice large piece of felt up and cut to size and embellish it.
