Great photos .........
We have resident kookaburras in our gum trees, too. When I go out on the back deck one of them cook, cook, cooks to me - I don't know whether it's Mr K greeting me in a friendly way or Mrs K warning me off and away from her nest. I love to hear them talking and occasionally laughing long and loud.

Thank you for sharing this lovely picture of such a gogeous bird. Hope he keeps coming back for more visits. Nature is stunning!! Have a lovely day.***
Cute little bird, how fun to wake up and find such a happy lil fellow perched on your fence..thanks for sharing the great feeling.
That's such an interesting looking little fella (or missy?) that I had to go look it up in Wikipedia. So I've learned something this morning before my first sip of coffee... LOL! Thanks for sharing!
Great pictures! Never seen a Kookaburra in person. How large of a bird are they? Kinda hard to tell from the pic. Hugs and *'s
One of the amazing and beautiful birds here in Australia. How lovely to have one so near to you. hugs Helen
The tree above his head looks like a Robinia tree Monika - do you think that it might be one? Does it have pendulous looking little flowers in springtime and does it go a really limey green? Doesn't matter really what it is anyway - Kookaburras are gorgeous wherever they are. We have them all the time. Love Chris
No flowers Chris , just very green all summer and drops all its leave in the winter. The are in next doors yard.
nature is beautiful if you have the eye to see it! Thank you!!
These are some gum trees in our front yard, they are about 60 foot tall.
Excellent pic, great bird, and yes I was singing in my head! Is that a gum tree? So he does sing and that means rain? thanks christine LLDS!

Gum trees are a bluey green, with very tuff leaves , to deal with our climate .
Oh my goodness! I love wildlife, we have many birds here but I just think he is adorable!
What kind of tree is in the foreground? I've never been to Australia or anywhere even close. I'm surrounded by a fir and maple tree forest though. That is a very cool picture. Thank you for sharing!
