HELP PLEASE. I have been using embroidery craft quilting spray to hold the fabric onto the stabilizer. I had to as the designs are very cose to the bottom of the garment. Now one big sticky mess on my two hoops. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it please. Thanks Shirley

I've never had any success with Goo Gone or dish washing liquid either. I bought a new set of hoops and then just wrapped the inner hoops with masking tape. This topic may inspire me to experiment today. Good luck!

Dawn dish soap and warm water - let it soak a bit and it should rub right off. Goo Gone also works.

Is the brand Dawn a dish soap from somewhere besides Australia. Haven't heard of it. But thanks for the reply.

Rubbing alcohol, or a bit of dish detergent in water should do the trick.

I see you have loads of answers. My DH made me a template to cover my hoop with a rectangular hole in the middle so my hoop stays clean. If I do get any goo on the hoop I just use baby wipes. Sarah.

Try ordinary WD40 - it is fantastic on clean up jobs like this...

as lehewj1 says, Goo Gone works great. You can now buy little bottles at the Dollar stores, and I keep them all over the house (good for label glue that just won't let go, removing gum and lipstick, ..... (no, I don't work for Goo Gone). You can also buy the spray stuff called 'Remove'. I'm sure there are other brands, but that is what I see on my shelf.

Thank you so much. I live in Australia, actually Brisbane, I wonder if they sell it here in Brisbane Australia. I will enquire. Thanks again.

I have a suggestion to avoid using the costly adhesive spray. When you are working close to the edge of something, baste a cloth of similar weight to the edge of your project so that you can have the whole thing tight in the hoop. Oil or Goo-Gone either one should work. Be careful not to use a solvent based cleaner or you might weaken the plastic of your hoop.

Eucolyptus oil, baby oil, or you can get special stuff for getting adhesive off. In Australia there is one callled oomph. but there are other brands. I have also heard of people putting the hoops in the dishwasher, but you would have to be sure all the screw bits are stainless steel.

when this happens, I use Goo Gone... I just spray it on the hoop and wipe it off...
