Oh Helen, I am soooo relieved for you and Toby! Keep that kitty Grounded! He's going through his 9 lives way too fast! What a rascal!
When our Oblio was hit by a car, and wired back together the vet said all he had to do then was eat and sleep - we knew he would make it then. He was a pig-cat.
Tuna kisses for Toby - and you! Whew!
So glad your baby survived his car accident too. They are prcious and well worth saving. When I got to take Toby home he had 5 huge steel pins in his leg to hold the bone while it healed. He lived in a 1 meter cage for 3 months, only allowed out for a cuddle for hte first 4 weeks. then he was to walk for a few mins, not climbing or jumping. He was so patient with all his treatment with the dressings being changed. xrays and more surgery. He does have a personality all of his own and is a very loving boy, 'when he wants to be loved' at his leisure, not mine. LOL.hugs Helen
Toby, bad boy! but would be hard to be too cross with him! he has such a beautiful face. Helen, I hope you are feeling better now Toby is back home...Hugs Sally
Sally, thank you. I woke this morning and felt a lot better. There seem to be no injuries to Toby and he has made NO move to go outside at all since we brought him home. hugs Helen
Wow- poor little guy. I bet he will stay closer to
home now.
He is, for today. We live on a new developed estate so there are wide open spaces everywhere but he goes when I am not looking,up to the old farm on the hill. where the rabbits are, often brings a wee rabbit home to play with and then lets it go. hugs Helen
Quite a time he's had! Glad he's OK. You can relax now.
Trying to relax..lol.I just keep going to him and telling him I love him, my big baby boy. hugs Helen
So are you going to have to take another day to spend with DH since the cat took center stage today?? Maybe a second day off would be in order?? :) Your little guy is quite handsome. Looks like he will survive his night out. He may be napping an extra bit today. :)
We went out for lunch as was the plan, and did a lot of window shopping. DH work Sat and Sunday so we do not get days off together, I am very lucky in my work that my boss understands ... hugs Helen
He sure is a pretty cat, and I am not really a cat fancier....Glad he is ok, and Mom relax he is OK. Maybe keep that boy in house permantly?
It is nearly time for almost permanent house arrest as the snakes are out already in our area. The cats will only be allowed out when I am home and oputside with them. Then they are brought back inside night and day. Thank goodness for kitty litter. LOL hugs Helen
So glad he was rescued! It's great news, Helen.
Hugs,
Jacqueline
That is a wild way to start the day! My kitty has pnemonia and is also grounded. You have a beautiful kitty cat. It is hard to have an outside cat, but they really need to go outside and be a cat! My kitty is still sick enough to come in. In about a week it will be more difficult to keep him in! LLDS! christine
All my cats are generally locked inside at night and sleep on and in the bed, but Toby figured out how to get the cat door open to escape. The door will be better secured from now on. hugs Helen
I feel with you. My old tiger-cat was vanished for 3 days after we moved and he needs meds. I was walking around shaking a box of dry catbits and calling for him and in the nights sleeped on the patio. The 3rd morning the little runaway came home to have breakfast...
Great that Toby is fine :o)
Greetings, Bettina
Oh Bettina, I'm so glad your tiger came home - naughty boy! So it was food that brought him home - LOL
A neighbour told me a similar story, hers was gone for 5 days and then came home. I am so glad my ordeal was short. Is it not a wonderful feeling to hold the furry baby when they do come home. hugs Helen
That is quite an ordeal Toby went through. Guess it's time to make sure he has a tracking chip attached to him and more bells around his neck. Glad you have him safely home. You both need this day off.
He is microchipped but I do not believe in colars for cats as they can be 'hung' if the colar gets caught on a broken branch. As for the ordeal, it has sure made him a wee bit quieter today. hugs Helen
You are right about the collar getting caught on things. Our neighbor would put their dog collars on real loose since we live in a forest and they are out all day. Several times we would find their collars and they said one of the dogs slit it's neck trying to get out of the collar so they purposely leave them loose.
I am soooooooo happy you had a happy ending. Sent you a PM. hugs n love, Meg
Gkad he is back home safe and sound with his MUMMY,
Hugs
Michelle
Thank goodness Helen. I am sure Toby was very pleased to be safe and back home - what an ordeal for him. Sarah.
Sarah thank you. My heart was almost exploding when I saw DH with him and he was alive. No bad reactionfrom Toby today but seems a bit timid at the open door today. He will sure hvae his freedom curbed now. hugs Helen
so glad he is home, and glad he has such a great mom, i love my dog children they are my on going babies, 4 dogs all cast aside and then were mine.thank goodness yesterday i made dog cookies baked chicken and sweet potatoes and will make treats today in dehydrator, baked roast pork for there night meal all is good
Sounds like a wholesome meal and very tasty too. You sound like a very proud MUM. Dont our animals make us good people????? hugs Helen
How lucky that young fellow found him and made the effort to retrieve him. Maybe Toby is a good case for permanent house arrest like lots of kitties are these days :) Hope he bounces back in no time.
Yes I feel very lucky. The young man has finished the bricks but I know which builder he is contracted to, so will find out his name and send him a lottery ticket. hugs Helen
I'm so glad this story had a happy ending! He's a beauty! Hugs and *'s, Deb
I feel like our pets are just like our children. We worry about them as we love them and they fill a huge hole in our hearts. Hope Toby is well soon.
Thank you , all my furries are my kids too. Toby will be fine now, and his tonkinese brother and sister were happy to see him home safe and kept sniffing at home. I did not sniff him, lol, just kept stroking him and telling him I was glad he was OK. hugs Helen
Helen, so glad you found Toby, and that he seems to be ok. At least you home with him today. Hugs Yvonne
What a beautiful kitty!! I am so glad that he is OK!! You were meant to be off work today
I just had to have the day at home. Goodness knows how long he had been there or would have been hanging if the young man had not heard him crying. hugs Helen
Glad you were home and able to put him on house arrest.
He is a naughty boy as he knows how to use his claws and flip the cat door open to escape. Will keep it locked tonight. hugs Helen
Oh! my Helen, so glad your baby is o.k. He is a real beauty too. Love Chris
Chris, I am soo relieved. He actually now has his winter coat and has a 'mane' like a wee lion. I was crying as I walked through the paddocks, unbelievable that he was within 50 meters of where I was but the wind was blowing in the wrong direction so I did not hear him. hugs Helen
TOBY
Shirlene, I adore all my cats, but he is the one that wakes me in the morning, tapping my face and purring at me to scratch his head. Then lies down and kneads the bedclothes. hugs Helen
The a.m. behavior reminds me of the way my Belle wakes me, especially if her food dish is empty.
He is a beautiful boy! I can see why he has melted your heart. The rag-doll breed came from the Burman being bred with a Siamese back in the 60s. Maybe he learned his lesson and will be a good boy from now on - Ha! We call the kneading "Making muffins."
