o.k. i like the sound of embird, and try before buy, but where is the best place to get this, thank you Toni lee
I recomment directly from Embird...that way if you have any issues, you bought it right from the source. Site is embird.com
I like Embird Basic (and the Iconizer). You can try before you buy and that is good thing - see if it is the right "fit" for you. If you decided you wanted to do more later you can add modules for Text, Digitizing, etc.
Embird basic and its Iconizer plug-in has enhanced my machine embroidery immensely! The BEST for the price, and just the basic has what you need for editing designs.

I also have SewWhatPro and SewIconz. SewWhat Pro will do what you want, and the BEST thing about them, is when you belong to the yahoo group, you get instant answers to your questions or problems. Steve, the creator of the programs, is there and will personally help. Can't get that from anything else.
I agree the west one and the cheapest is sewwhatpro.
you can change sizes and it will automatically change dencity. yoiu can change the colour background to match the frabric you will use and then change the coloures of threads to look good. you can remoe small bits or large amounts you can split the stitches when two parts of the design are sewn the same colour to enable you to change the parts as you want it. swop between formats with no problem. merge designs and hoop sizes. take a bit of one design and add a bit from another and save at every step. Even the free trial will allowe you to save nd use every part of the program. if you get stuck then join the group and ask away. You will have an answer and all the help you need BIG PLUS you are notified of upgrades and they are free to download.
guess you can tell i love this program.

Annie - thank you for so much information. I have sewIconz and love it. I must now have a look at Sewwhatpro. Sarah.
I have been using Embird basic program plus Iconizer for a few years. I use it every day and it's a good editing program.
Embird is a good program that you can add on modules as your needs grow.
The base program is the editor/ manager and then
if you like you can add on modules like studio for
digitizing, photostitch etc.
Also, there are tons of support groups on the net
IE Yahoogroups
Many free and pay for tutorials for basic and more advanced.
This is what I purchased tho haven't had much time to play with it yet.
Hope this helps.
Embird...you can also free trial the software to see if it will meet your needs.
Sew What Pro is an editing program.
You can find it at Sands Computing at the link below.
