Congratulations Libster, they are adorable. And here is an explanation on the word "Avatar". I hope that helps everybody to know about why that word (even me, I didn't know nether, but now I did ;-) I found this explanation at Wikipedia. Flower and XoXo
"An avatar (abbreviations include av ,and avi and "avvie") is computer user's representation of himself or herself, whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games, a two-dimensional icon (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities, or a text construct found on early systems such as MUDs. It is an “object” representing the embodiment of the user. The term "avatar" can also refer to the personality connected with the screen name, or handle, of an Internet user"
Avatar is a word used to describe a picture or a computer graphic of the user. The word was probably picked up by "gamers" because in the Hindu religion it means an embodiment of a god.
'Avatar': From the Sanskrit word (as seen in the practice of Hinduism) for "passing down" or "passing over,". An avatar (sometimes 'avatara') describes the descent to earth of a deity (a god), or 'of the Deity' (as related to god), in material, usually humanly, form. ... It has been adopted in cyberspace to mean an image that represents a person... A way to be on others desktop computer or to 'descend' into others lives without really being there.... A very unique and spiritual reference that has bled into other cultures, including modern venues such as 'cyberspace' and even a cartoon series.
Namaste (that mean in Sanskrit 'I bow to all that is divine in you'.) Now you know 2 words in Sanskrit,
Silver
Thanks for that, Silver, A flower for you. Intersting that my name, Elizabeth, means Oath of God, or if you really want to push it, gift of God. I am a deity-ess, but then, we all are on this site.
You are absolutely right. I wish more people realized the beautiful spark of the divine they carry inside...The world would be a far happier place I think if we held to our true inner strengths and did not worry so much about the 'piddly' stuff ;).
ooohhh! libster they r just beautiful, but u didn't tell us their names *4U
Daniel and Jessica, but when Jessica was just born, Daniel used to call her "my Icka". He could never, and still can't, give her enough cuddles. They absolutely adore each other. I'm so lucky and blessed to have such happy and content kids. I would be lost without them.
