You were putting a sink in the house you've already sold? I guess you'd made a deal that the sink would be in for the new buyers? Good end to the story, anyway. Seems your mister could stick with being tool-carrier. Though (supervised) practice might help if he wants to be better with tools. Most of us learn by trial and error -sewing or woodwork, it's all similar!
Scary stuff, Alice. Farm machinery can pose many a heart-in-mouth moment, too - like chain saws up gum trees in high winds. I'm so glad that the painter was on hand to offer his help. Bet you're getting excited now with the new house coming together.
AlmaG.
After I read the first words I had this awful feeling in my stomach. Reading further I am so glad your husband wasn't hurt.
Thank goodness all is well. Looking forward to some pictures. Sarah.
I hate circular saws.. My first Hubby (rest his soul) was building a porch at our home and was using one of those saws and it caught his pant leg as he was putting it down and yep.. cut his leg really bad.. 51 blanket stitches to put the leg back together and 3 days in the hospital.. to this day I do not like to be around when someone is using one..
That sounds scary him trying to do a DIY (do it yourself)project and not good with tools. It was a blessing the painter was willing to step in and help out. Sometimes it's better not watching them work.
Alice, this sounds like my hubby. He is not very knowledgable in home remodeling, but wants to help me. His use of saws and other tools make me rather nervous, on edge. I tell him to go relax and I'll call him, should I need his help! ....uhmm...perhaps he DOES KNOW what he is doing!! LOL

YEOW! I sucked in my breath reading about Rick's near stomachache-yikes Alice. Glad all is going well though-lucky lucky you.I dread the day we start re-doing my kitchen-probably next summer. Take lotsa pictures of everything-especially your studio- =O) ~linda~
I gets knots in my stomach when Jim gets busy with the power tools!!!! What a scary thing having that come at your stomach, WHEW!! Can't wait to see pics, Alice.......
Alice I'm glad that nothing bad happened to your husband. I know how dangerous tools can be. In our house I'm the one who uses the circular saw and all the other heavy stuff.
Some women get diamondrings after the birth of the children but I had wished my Festool-equipment (was a good idea ;o).
Greeting, Bettina
PS: That's our kitchen during the built-up and now :o)
WTG Bettina!! looks great. I'm like you, diamonds and jewels are nice-I don't mind getting them, but I would rather have something that I can be constructive with.
Bettina you are a girl after my own heart. In my house painting, fixing, repairing was done by me. Husband was not good at it. He would cook instead while I was building deck with a friend. You did awesome.
Well, I dont feel so weird. Because I do all the painting, etc. Hubby was at the office and not his thing and no time.
I can wield a circular saw but mostly use it to cut off tree branches to big for my ratchet pruners.
Nice before and after pictures. I'm to busy now taking care of my hubby who is homebound with MS so I let the contractors come and they charged me $150
to install some baseboard. OUCH
I would have done it myself had I realized
how pricey even tho house insurance mostly
paid for it.
bumblebee so sorry to read about your husband and those tradespeople charge you so much. The only thing I'm really afraid of is an angel grider. Once it nearly flow out of my hand :o( Since them I prefer other tools...
