I see that Alma G has give you the same answer I would have. Badgemaster is very affordable and you only need to use one thickness. Since its a thicker wss product it does take longer to dissolve but well worth the wait.

Thanks for asking that question and thank you to all the people who responded.

Shoppersrule.com have Badgemaster for $2.83 for 1 yard x 30" right now.
I've never used it but I'm ordering some right now.

I use Bagemaster all the time. I love it for FSL. I stick the ends of the scraps together and reuse it so there is no waste. Just love the stuff. it is so thick you only need one layer. Suzanne

AllStich carries Badgemaster too.
Link Below.

When ordering from the USA check on the shipping costs and compare.

Allstitch had higher shipping costs than Worldweidner for shipping to me in Alberta.

Also Worldweidner puts their stabilizers on special so something to keep checking often.

Badgemaster has to be kept in an air tight bag as it will dry out and become brittle in dry climates and also humidity can affect it as it will stretch in high humidity when your stitching on it.

Also Badgemaster takes much longer to soak out of FSLace designs. Usually has to be soaked over night so lets say for several hours so lace turns out soft.

I think this is why so many of us like and use Vilene!

I use a lot of Badgemaster heavy weight and buy it in large rolls from Allstitch. They have the best price I have found. I am working on a large solid lace tablecloth with a Zundt design right now.

I use it occasionally for Criswell Lace designs.
They suggest using it for all their FSLace.
But I do use Vilene for many of my FSL designs.

They say that FSL designs turns out smaller in size when stitched out on Vilene.

I bought the new FSL Victorian Ornament Covers from Criswell and one of the girls did a test of them stitched on Vilene and also on Badgemaster and she said the ones stitched on Vilene were smaller and may not fit over the ball ornaments that they are to fit over. She said the ones done on the Badgmaster fit perfectly.

I live in Canada and I order the Badgemaster from the USA at Worldweidner at the link below. Order was here in one week time.
They carry the Badgmaster in several different sized rolls.

Ditto. I live in Canada also and just ordered another 50yard roll from Worldweider. I love it. It works well on all FSL designs.

I got a 50m roll of Badgemaster when I bought my EP-4 and have used that almost exclusively for FSL. I like it. I do keep all wss in a plastic bag as our rainy climate can effect it.

Some digitizers actualy suggested the Badgemaster for FSL. I was unable to find it locally, but ordered from Shopper's Rule at a very good price. I do use it, but it has to be kept in a zip lock bag so moisture does not effect it...especially here in Florida. But, I don't know what I like best, the Badgemaster or Vilene. I do have the heavy weight badgemaster, but some is very light weight.

I've done a lot of FSL using Badgemaster. Every one of the designs turned out great with no problems. I recommend it.

I use it daily now that I purchased a big roll! It is not as thick as Ultra Solvy - which is what I was using. It is enough for FSL and several designer swear by it! I occasionally have to put small pieces of support on top of my design while in process, which covers any potential dense areas. christine Live Laugh Download Stitch!
