I am so happy you all were able to get together. I know it was a real effort in today's busy schedules. Great photos and thanks for the yummy chicken salad recipe. I can't wait to try it. Kay
Thank you so much for sharing this special day with us. Happy that you all had such a lot of fun. Have a lovely day!!***
Thankyou for sharing with us - your visit must have been wonderful and so exciting to see each other - I am so thrilled for each of you and I hope you try to do this over and over again. I don't know how far you each had to travel - it is totally awesome that you were able to. Wishing you each lovely memories of this special time - what a treat for us to have been able to share in such a small way - with you. THANKS!
The super! The Internet it is remarkable, but live dialogue - super! You are good fellows:-)
Sewmom, Thank you for a wonderful day and making your home open to us and the great lunch. So enjoyed it that I had seconds! Wonderful meeting your family (who was home!) and thnak you, thank you, thank you for doing the embroidery. Much apprecited by my DIL and son.
The get together was one of the highlights of my trip. My GD is doing fine and it will be hard leaving to go home to South Africa. I'm hoping to come again next year but she'll be walking by then and no longer a "babe in arms".
Don't babies grow up too quickly?
Love and hugs
Elizabeth
It sure did look and sound like everyone had a great time! Thanks for letting us join in with some part of the get-together! Great pictures!
So glad that you had a great for all. Love the blanket, great job. Thanks for sharing the photos. DeVon
Wow! What a great time. Is this the first time you ladies had a get together. It was so well organized! I would like to have one in Denver in the spring if there are more cuties here! I may go the the big emblib get together just to recruit new Cutes!
I know you Cuties had a nice time together! There is nothing more fun than a "girls" chitchat and creative session!!
Angel
Looks like it was a great gathering. Thanks for sharing the pics and that recipe for salad sounds yum!
This is sooooo cool. Fantastic opportunity. You all look great!!
Thank you so much sewmom for sharing this with us. It looks as if you all had a really happy time. Sarah.
Thanks Sewmom for being a super hostess. I do have to correct her though. She said WE worked on Elizabeth quilt. Actually Sewmom worked on the quilt and because of the quilts size she was sitting on the floor with her machine.
I must have looked silly but the quilt was hitting the wall and I didn't want it to bump and mess up the stitching.
Thank you Angie for the Cute Christmas Pin.
I forgot to thank Elizabeth for the South African animal placemat fabric she shared with all of us. A very nice momento of her visit for each of us.
And the delicious desserts from Denise, the yummy bread from Mousemaster, and so much more. We have a very giving group up here!
Angie, Thank you so much for travelling all that way to fetch me. It is much appreciated. Love your FSL - added to my list of things to do when I get home.
Wasn't it a gret day - that by connecting via the Cute we could mmeet and get together. Love and hugs Elizabeth
Lots of Cuties, sharing crafts, food, and picture taking. Sounds like a perfect enjoyable cutie day.
Better quilt picture.
I love the fabrics and colors - this is such a special quilt - one that will be a family tresure for sure.
Here is my salad recipe.
A friend gave me a recipe for Beach Club Salad but I changed it a bit. Serves 10-12
Salad
4 chicken breasts baked, cooled, and cut into bite size pieces.
1 head of Romaine lettuce cut or torn into bite size pieces
1 head of Leaf lettuce or Red Tipped Leaf lettuce cut or torn into bite size pieces
1 ½ cups of raspberries
1 cup blueberries
2 cups blue cheese crumbled
6 tablespoons almonds slivered
In a large bowl put in both types of lettuce. Add chicken. Sprinkle raspberries, blueberries, blue cheese, and almonds on top. Gently toss just before serving.
Dressing
½ cup raspberry vinegar –or:
I made my own like this:
½ cup white vinegar
½ cup crushed raspberries
¼ cup apple juice
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 medium clove garlic minced
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
¾ cup vegetable oil (you could use canola oil)
For Dressing: in a small bowl whisk together vinegar (pre-made or my 3 ingredients), mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper. Slowly pour in oil, whisking until emulsified. Strain in a fine strainer.
I wish I had taken a picture, it's very colorful. The kids devoured the leftovers already! That's what happens when my firefighter son gets home :)
Uh oh. My dressing recipe did not transfer over correctly. My 3 ingredients to make the raspberry vinegar are:
½ cup white vinegar
½ cup crushed raspberries
¼ cup apple juice
Then the ingredients after that are added no matter if you use pre-made raspberry vinegar or mine.
Then the ingredients after that are added no matter if you use the premade or if you use mine.
What an amazing day yous had. And your salade sounds yummy :)
Thank you for sharing with us sewmom.
Wish i was there too
Hugs Lee
