This is happening all on the main sites that offer freebies. I think we all need to remember that these sites are Business's. The Carrot so to speak is The freebie, once youve bitten the carrot your doomed to any changes. :)
The decision to continue buying from them is logic, as they have lovely, good quality designs, but before you do, ask yourself: how old are you? how many years do you have in front of you to continue embroidering happily? Do you do it for hobby or because you have a business? Then it all becomes clear: go ahead and buy when you really like it!!!! :) LOL! Life is too short!
I'm like a hamster and building a stock for the time when my kids (9+4) move out from home *lol*
My other excuse is my business and that I need something for the next return of tax.
Greetings, Bettina
Like you see on SICK (no more freebie every hour, deleting the points-system and the 1$-page is most of the time a page where all sets have the regular price of 1$) some companies have to save a little on their extras. I think this is the better way than to increase the prices for the designs. Emblibrary is always very generous with sales and sales discounts not to forgett the fantastic quality of their designs so I will stay a true (and much too good :o) customer.
Greetings, Bettina
I've had a few there. Not getting $ for them certainly is not going to make me stop buying. Most of what I have from them was free or a sale. Nothing stays the same forever.
this makes me put emblibrary on my DO NOT BUY list. i have no knowledge to share, but i deeply appreciate anything that is shared to me. i guess the most REGRET is that urban threads is n this family...woe is me...if a $5 gift is all it takes to make emblibrary be ungrateful i guess i will find a newplace to shop.
Why would you stop buying? Because they no longer seem to give a gift voucher for tips? We are sharing tips (and our designs) here all the time without anything but a thank you and a cyber flower. That does not stop us.
Well said Mops. Plus Their designs are reliable and stitch out beautifully, their sales are great, often only a dollar or so for a design - they give free designs every month, their customer service is fantastic...
I have to admit that I never read the tip of the day and I'm often (much too often) at emblibrary. On the other hand they give you a gift certification for birthday and have so many sales so for me this is not the point.
Greetings, Bettina
LOL-I think cuties were eating up all their profits with the non-stop tips Bev. $5 here, $5 there....Darned if I can ever win their contests
=O( I just placed an order there for more designs that are on sale-like I don't have enough already-should stop downloading designs and start stitching um out....nahhhhhh ~linda~
Same with me :o)
Have enough designs to stitch 3x lifetimes but like beautiful shoes: You can never get enough *lol*
Greetings, Bettina
I have twice spent an age attempting to reply to this and its gone :(((((
My first tip is never throw anything away as you will need it tomorrow. My long suffering husband commented on my hording today. he does it too but not with sewing bits.
My other tip is have a memory stick/flash drive whatever you call it so if you go away and have internet access you can get your daily free designs. This is great if you are collecting a alphabet. I visit my daughter regularly and do this. It is a tip I sent to Emblib but they did not use it. I look forward to seeing what others give as their tips and Bev thanks for the question
