Convert It mac comes with the Thumbnailer program which allows you to view your design files on your computer in pictures so makes finding a design easy.
Conver It mac will convert design formats to the format you want to use.

Yes - it looks like a good program - guess I am just balking at spending MORE $$ after buying my machine!! But - it won't do me any good to have the machine if I can't use it- right!! ;)
Thanks for your advice!! Plus - I am not that great at using my MAC yet - I've only had it about a year, & am still on the learning curve!
Thank you!!
Here are the links to the programs for Mac comuters.

Convert it mac would be a good way to go for your Mac computer.
The same company makes another program that is an editing program that will run on Macs too.
Embrillance Essentials is what I think it is called.
Both these programs work in the mac envirornment and you will not need to use an emulating program such as Parallels.
Will try to find the link for these and post here for you to get more information.

I was just going to ask about needing a Parallels-type program in addition - thanks for thinking to mention that!! I am also wondering whether I can start off with Embrilliance Essentials, & then see if I feel I need to add Convert It, or if I really need both to begin with. I appreciate your help so much - it's a LOT to wade through - especially not having a knowledge base to begin with!!

Hello Samantha,
welcome to CUTE :o)
I have Parallels on my mac and use embird for converting (I know real apple-lovers will throw stones at me for that ;-). StitchBuddy is a program just for mac. You can convert and change the colors and it works like an iconizer. Maybe somebody here on cute works with it and can tell you more.
Greetings, Bettina
Sorry but I dont think I can help. I use Wilcome Truesizer when I need to change formats otherwise I use my PE design softwear.
