My daughter has 40cm squares tiles in her family room, that my granddaughter likes to hop from one to another on, I thought about making an indoor fabric hopscotch game for her, with anti-slip fabric on the back so it wont slide, if i do each square seperatly then sew them together like a quilt, it should work, especially if i do it 'quilt as you go" , any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. If any one as done one I would love to hear from you. Ruth

You know thinking back, I think I did too on lino, that grey and yellow sort, that was polished within an inch of its life, lol! I had forgotten!

I think could be a fun project for both of you :) Maybe back it with the no slip rubbery grippy shelf liner stuff, and make sure it is really well stiffened so when she jumps it doesn't rumple up. Hope you post a pic when you have it all figured out.

My girls have foam squares that go together like a jigsaw for indoor hopscotch (and a dozen other games they have made up with them)

Grace has the foam squares with letters on them, she likes to make words with them., Thanks for the suggestion about making it stiff, I agree it will help it from rumpling when she jumps on it, and the rubber backed drapes from starlizard is also a great idea, as it will reduce the cost and I love the thought of recycling

Back a LONG time ago, you used to be able to get a pourable rubber backing to use on hooked rugs. I don't have a clue if that stuff is still available... but its worth looking for. OR... check out the Goodwill store for drapes that have the rubber backing... cut up and quilt as is.

Good luck on your project. I have not done one but it sounds interesting. I know your GD will love it!
