I have just taken a photo of the back of one of my steering wheel covers. I cut a circle 17-17.5inches (43cm) in diameter. Then cut the two sections for the back. Sew 12mm bias onto the two back sections, join these to the front and sew around the edge as close to the edge as you can Then using 25mm bias tidy the edge of the cover. Hope this makes sense. If not please PM me. This is bought quilted fabric.

This is absolutely cleaver. What beautiful work you do. I envisioned the type with elastic when you mentioned a steering wheel cover. This is so much nicer and when not being used it will fold up much easier. Good Work!

I'm not sure how this fits on and the two sections are how big? Never seen one before but would love to make one. Thanks

You can't make the top too deep because of the Steering column and you really just need the botton to catch the bottom of the steering wheel. It is up to you how big you make the top and bottom sections.

Haven't been to Florida but have been through California and left from LA. In places it could be Australia with the gum trees. I know it gets hot in California so imagine Florida would be the same.

Looks like a great idea Carolyn - our steering wheels get pretty hot here in Canada in the summer, pretty cold here come winter...worth a try...thanks and have fun at the Bobbin Lace Classes...Hugs Glenda x0x0x0

What a day at Bobbin Lace. I have a faint suspicion that I am not very good at Bobbin Lace. Maybe I just talk too much. Only me and my dog at home and she doesn't talk. She is deaf anyhow.

I like your project, yes getting hot now. Where do you do Babbin Lace in Adelaide, might be interested!

mi30kaja by mi30kaja 11 Nov 2011

I go on Fridays to The Needle Woman Shop at Tusmore.

janome300 by janome300 13 Nov 2011

Are they finished for the year, or can one join in at any stage for the bobbin Lace? Tusmore is not that far for me.

mi30kaja by mi30kaja 13 Nov 2011

They finish the same time as the school holidays,I think that is another 5 weeks. Why not come along and see if you like it first before the end of the year and if you do then book in for next year. If you wish I will send you her phone Number. Lyn PM me if you wish.
