Penguin.


I was so fed up with doily outlines I just had to do something else. I embroidered the penguin on a scarf. Had to correct the outline in one place and found it irritating that the center of the design was not the center of the penguin, so I shortened the curly bit on the right. But even this stitch-out was not bad at all.

Thanks Jerrilyn. That's what test stitch-outs are there for, aren't they; anyhow the penguin is in the middle of the design in the corrected version.

Looks adorable to me and the little person isn't going to notice its placement. Sometimes the good old eyeballing works better than measuring. lol

Thank you, you are right, measurement isn't always the best thing. But the design is dead center, point is the penguin is not in the center of the design because of the swirls (snow, just an embellishment?) he is standing on. That's why I made a correction to that afterwards. I'll upload it in the corrected form.

This is for a 3 year old, I made it from a remnant and it measures 20 cm x 100 cm.
