Mary,
Yikes, You are very confused. I will try to explain.
1.You can use preety much any format of emb design you have on your cds, hard drive etc.
2. The machine has its own proprietary software that
you use on your computer that allows you to use any
design.
3. You do not need to hook up to the internet to use
your machine.
4. You use a cable to connect computer to the futura
via a usb port that most computers have. Its very
common and easy.
5. Last point : In order to use your futura machine you need to hook up via your included cable to your computer while you work and use the included software.
Hope this helps.

No the software you use comes with the machine and you only use this directly with the machine.
If you design in another software you can
save the file-IE PES or hus or jef or whatever and the software that comes with
the machine can read any file. Thats one
of its nicest features.
