check the hoop size selector to be sure the embroidery hoop is not too large for your machine.
I have unpluged my computer. did the download from brother, nothing has worked, it still sends up the message no card writter is connected. Thanks for all the help. Guess I will be broke down a while
Hi, I've had that problem before too! First, make sure you have the latest update - which is pretty old. Next, the computer needs to recognize the card reader. If you have the card reader in your USB drive when you start up your computer that should take care of that. If not, then you can go to your top menu bar to where it says devices, USB and select the one that is for the card reader. (sorry can't remember which one it is, but it does make sense when you see it) and tell it to recognize it. That should do it. If NOT, then cry and stomp your feet, throw a fit on the floor. That always works for me. Hugs and understanding on your frustrations! Jan aka hightechgrammy for no really good reason!
Mine has done that also. I just kept moving it to different sides and also pulled card out and inserted again. just keep messing with it because then it'll work, no problem.
You may want to go to Brother site and Dl the program again, sometimes the card does not work if you have two different size designs in it, have check all the designs are the same size???Thaat has happened to me I had 4x4 and 5x7 the software does not know want to do. Hope you make it work
I have had this message come on quite often when I use my reader/writer software with card. I have gotten it to work by usually pulling out the card and pushing it carefully back in again, as sometimes the card doesn't seat properly into the slot. I have removed the card, closed the software program, reopened, then inserted the card again. I have the Ultimate Box, not the PED basic, but I presume they operate similarly. Once, it failed to function because at the top of the home page it has a place to check Brother or Viking. I have a Brother machine, so when I finally realized I had Viking checked, instead of Brother, made the correction, the software would read/write to the card. My Ultimate box is several years old, but still working fine most of the time. Only once in awhile does the message appear saying "no card" or "cannot write to this card", then I do what I previously mentioned and it starts working.
Good luck.
Angel
Could it need update? The computer might not recognize because driver needs updating. New update to 1.7 at Brother site.
You should try rebooting your computer, as Asterixsew has advised, because often the PC won't recognise peripherals unless they are connected BEFORE you turn the computer on.
You could also try connecting to a different USB port on your computer and make sure you are not connecting through a hub.
And of course Carolyn's advice should also be followed. :-)))
Hugs and roses, Meganne
When one of mine did this the bar code at the back was dirty i cleaned it and it worked fine???I used windex on it??carolyn
