I am scrapping/junking/disassembling a Brother SE 270D sewing/embroidery machine. It is UNFIXABLE. Uses the ------cassette threading system. Don't ever buy a machine that uses a cassette threading system----PIECE OF JUNK. Let me know if any of you can use any salvagable parts from the machine. The embroidery table part is probably usable on an identical machinee. Hoops are possibly usable. Let me know if anyone wants any of the parts. I plan to use a sledge hammer on the thing. Has been a definite BAD VOCABULLARY BUILDER. God bless you all.

Better have a cup of coffee I think! Please tell me what the 'cassette' threading system is?

Thread is put around a plastic THINGEE, then it is shoved in to a long tube. Worked fine the first few years. Cannot manually thread machine. Used on a few models by Brother and then apparently scrapped. Should never have been invented.

I'm so sorry to hear this darling. Last week I was thinking my 3100d would look great in the fish pond!! I was able to take it to a "different" Brother dealer and he fixed it perfectly. He is now "MY" Brother dealer - won't go anywhere else. Is it worth trying a differnt dealer??? xx

Thanks. I will salvage parts, bits, and pieces, and tool set, and sledge hammer the rest. I have 2 other Brother emb machine that I love. The SE 270D has been a PAIN since I purchased it for travel. UNFIXABLE but SLEDGE-HAMMERABLE!

Don't you have a Brother dealer in your area that you can take it to and get the problem fixed? If so do it and ask that the dealer show you how to fix the problem yourself if it happens again.

Would have to be sent back to Brother. Not worth it. Will take off usable pieces, give them away or reuse them, and sledge-hammer the rest. Thank you and God bless you and have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Well, a sledge hammer, that's one way to take out your frustration. Sorry for you....don't let it beat you! :-)

It will make me feel so good to sledge hammer it. I have 2 other embroidery machines that work beautifully. And I get to embroider stuff for the grandkids (when I am allowed to----) and for the babies and kids at church. God is gracious. And may He bless and keep all you Cuties save under His protective wing.
