I did so far only one person responded and the answer is not very good, She said the first machine she bought had a problem, the company sent her another one, then she broke her leg, and her sewing room is in the second floor, so she has not used it that much, she said only the first 3 days and it worked fine, that is what I am afraid of if that happens to me is not going to be that easy, I will have to return the machine, and the shipping to USA from dominican republic is not cheap.

My hubby bought me one about a month or so ago and I love it!! Easy to use and learn. I love, love the large hoop and features of this machine!! I also have a Brother PC8500 that I bought in 1999...but he's still in repair...anyways, long story short...The amazing thing is this company is the same local people I bought my Brother from!!
Here's a link for their site and you can email with any questions or concerns. Tommy is the sales manager and was just a young man in 1999 when he sold me my first ever EM...being the PC-8500. Brian was prompt in answering all my questions.
If you would like to PM me I'll be happy to help you anyway I can. I am in NO WAY a part of the company, just a very happy customer!!

Thank you for your answers, My problem is I am taking this machine to DR and I want to be sure it works as a horse i am afraid buying a lemon, there will be no way to bring it back, the shipping cost would be too much, There are not embroidery machine comp. in DR only Brother but they do not sell all the models, only sewing and industrial machines. Thank you

I have a Futura CE350, too. I've looked at the XL4000 machine... and while it has its larger hoop, it does have some serious issues as far as purchase goes. Now I live in Canada, and maybe its different in the States, but here, the XL4000 does NOT come with the digitizing program and some of the other bells and whistles that the Futura models have. All the software are extra cost. One of the things that I would advise you to do, is to keep this thought in the front of your mind: We live in a disposable world, and things aren't built to last like they used to be. Do your homework and as 'sue advised, take a class or at the very least, have your Singer dealer give you a test drive on the machine. Good luck.

You are right the xl400 does not come with additional software. But the rumor mill has it that this machine is like the CE150, which didn't come with exta software either, and there may be other new machines coming down the line with the additional software. Some thing to think about.

it cut me off! anyway to finish my sentence...software. Something to think about.

I own a CE350 futura machine and have studied the xl 400's. It has a decent sewing machine, not as good as the CE350, but where it really shines is in the embroidery. It has a larger hoop size (6x10) and has the capability to do multi hoopings so you can do really big sizes. It also comes with a 4x4 hoop for smaller designs. Alot of people don't like Singer products, but most of the problems I've seen come through operator error.(I probably just opened a can of worms with that statement:) What I suggest is if your dealer offers classes on how to operate the machine don't hesitate to take it.There is not alot of information out yet on the machine because it is brand new and Singer has discontinued the CE150, CE250 and CE350 Futura machines so this is the embroidery machine they are selling now. I have seen it in action and was impressed with the way it embroidered and the capability it had for larger designs. It also had a really nice threading system. Hope this helps.

I'm with you on the '... operator error' statement. I'd love to have a conversation with you about how a lot of people aren't open to the possibility that they might be doing something wrong.

Mary I have seen you ask this question before so I presume you are not getting the answer you want. I have found this but as its not working at the moment in might not be help. Are you on anyother embroider forums to ask the question there? Happy hunting for your answer
