A reminder about proper hooping. I digitized a design for someone and they wanted an outline. I did not have time to test so I asked this person to test before using it. I received an email with a scan of her test and the outline was all wrong. I then tested myself and it was fine. Please remember if you do not hoop properly it does not matter how good the design is the results will be poor. Please note this is not a criticism of the lovely lady that I have been dealing with. But outlines are tricky and the slightest movement in the hoop will been that they stitch in the wrong place.

OH, and PULEASE use good stabiliser before blaming the design for misaligned outlines.

That must be the reason why many designers don't digitize outlines. When possibile, I don't hoop the fabric, just the stabilizer, using basting stitches, some glue and pins to help keep the fabric from moving.

There are also variances between different machines stitching out the same design using a different stabilizer and thread and if she was using an home embroidery machine or the multi-needle type.

Gosh there are so many answers to this as the questions will be..

Im still learning by trial and error lol

I get really frustrated with the outlines, because sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't. What IS the proper way to hoop for perfect outlines? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has learned by trial and error.
