Mary, just an update. I purchased some Superior thread to try, directly from Superior. Their tryme specials are 500yd Metallic for $5.00 each but you get whatever colours they send you.

BUT they have another thread (Glitter Thread) on special for $1.50 a 400yd spool, two different gold colours. So I bought 4 of each colour.

I suggest you watch the movie on the best way to use it.

I'm looking forward to getting these to try but the probably won't arrive before Christmas now.

I have Pfaff machines and Robison-Anton is my #1 choice of metallic, but has limited colors. Madeira is #2 and has a great selection of colors. Have not had very good success with Sulky and that is all that is available locally so do most of my ordering online. Always use metallic in the bobbin as well. Best guess would be to buy one spool and see how it works with the machine, they all react differently.

I am not sure where you are in the world but I use Soflight metalic, I find them very good. But the only place that I know has them is echidna in Australia.

I have both a Brother Innovis and a Janome and use Coats-clark metallic with a metallic needle and haven't had any problem with either machine using the correct needle. Its really all in the needle. Metallic thread needs the larger eye.

I have bought a red and green Matallic thread. Prior to that I had a silver, but the thread is like plastic, not thread. The plastic type may be shinier, but it aslo breaks very easily. Hoping to have much better luck with the metallic myself. Lookintg forward to reading others experiences as well!

Hi Mary, At the convention we went to yesterday, the women sitting at our table recommended we try SUPERIOR Brand.
I have been looking online for it, haven't decided yet who to buy it from, but I am definitely going to buy some to try.

I have never purchased the BFC metallic, but have used the varigated and other colors. I love the Marathon metallic - and I bought direct, and was very pleased with what I got, and how it stitches. It is the first one that I ever used that did not bind, or break. It was so good, I fianlly used on FSL angels - did beautifully.
