The Lizard's Spin on Embroidered Card

I have a dentist appointment on Wednesday. Just a cleaning and check up... nothing major. So, this evening, I decided I was going to use Martine's poinsettia design; well, part of it, anyway, and take my dentist's office a holiday greeting card... Lizard style.

Memo to Martine: If you see this, I hope you approve.

What I did, was stitch out the poinsettia onto black felt. I can hear a collective, "Huh?" out there all over the world. Why black? Because its different from the norm and will stand out like a sore thumb among the white, red, green, and gold of more traditional holiday greeting cards. Seriously, what better reason than that? LOL!

The first picture is the the front of the card, obviously. I did double stitch the poinsettia and leaves. It just seemed that was what I should do since it was going on black.

The second picture is a close up of the poinsettia. See the crystal in the center of the poinsettia?

The third picture, is the inside of the card. I found the stationary at the dollar store the other day... didn't have a clue what I was going to do with it, but got it just because. I'm probably going to trim the excess felt.

The font I used is called 'Christmas Card.'
I used "Happy Holidays" because its non-secular and I think my dentist may be more of a Hanukkah type of fellow... but I'm not entirely certain of this.

I look forward to reading the critiques.

I like the black felt and it was a good idea to stitch it twice as it sinks in the felt. Nice lettering!

Nice job ! I don't know this font. Is it in your software or one you purchased?

Its a common free font, like what you would download into your computer's font folder. The Futura has an add-on program called HyperFont. It converts the fonts on the computer into embroidery. Thanks for responding.

Like a bit of the felt showing around the inside. It makes it pop better or as you put it stands out like a sore thumb (which it doesn't). lol
