For a 10" block, I make my top piece and the batting 10", I applique first then put the block together and quilt using a design. The back piece I make 13". Then you have an inch and a half on each side to put the blocks together. Sew the blocks together with an inch and a half seam. You are sewing the backs together. Then you sew the rows together.

Go to Youtube.com and type in quilting in the hoop and a instructional video will come up just watch it. I went there last week and it showed 2 ways to quilt in the hoop too.

Yes you can.You trim the batting . Saw right sides together of the front fabric and by hand on the back

Hey Memasanders,
If you want to go to the web-site tmedesigns.com she has all the instructions there. It might be a little easier if you had visuals than trying to make out the directions I gave you before.

Hugs,
mj

I tried it last night when I got home from work. I wanted to do a crazy quilt so I purchased all the stuff for it, downloaded the patterns to do it all ITH, and I love it. It doesn't say to add the batting and backing but I did it during the last ouline stitching for the block and it turned out great. I used a a little temporary spray qlue to hold it onto the back of my block and hoop (I did not put it in the hoop) and then sewed the last outline stitch. After I removed the block from the hoop I trimmed it really close to the stitching and then butted the blocks together and did a joining stitch on my regular machine. Looks nice and finished. I guess you could leave a 1/4" space when cutting the block and then do a sew as you go technique on finshed blocks, that would look good to. PM me if you need more direction, it was more a trial and error thing for me.

Hugs
mj
