O.K. I was going to answer this yesterday, then decided not to. You cut your material on a bias. You cut it 1-1/2 inches, like the pattern says. You take a 1/4 in stitching on both sides with a long stitch, my machine is 4, then you iron both sides and then you pull the threads out, iron again and fold in half and you have bias tape and you can do any color you want. Don't have to buy anything. I did two of them and had no problem. LOL
What a great question! I've shyed away from many designs-patterns because of the binding. I've thought about getting the feet for my Bernina but didn't want to spend the money if they didn't work. Let me know how it goes and if you don't mind the price. I'll have to do some saving...maybe after the holidays?
I too don't want a white elephant. We have
lost 2 Bernina dealerships here locally. I
will have to go to the one that is left.
Let you know about it later.Maureen
I have the simple binder foot with adapter and have used it. It takes a little practice, but overall is a timesaver since it will place the binding right where you want it. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll go to the dealer after the 1st of the year for a demo. I would like a neater finish on edges. Maureen
I have Bernina machines and I looked up the the feet in volume 2 feetures. Wow!!! don't know the price but they look wonderful. also there is a simple binder # 85 listed, but you would need the # 75 adaptor to use it. maybe some one has these and will steer you to the perfect one for you. I have never had a Bernina foot that I did not love. that is why I gave my daughter my 1120 0r 1130 whatever it was called when the feet changed. I had bought all the feet at that time and could not bare to waste them as useless. I sew on it all the time when I am at her home. I am afraid she is challenged on sewing machines. Of course the latest I phone is no challenge..
Thanks Kay, I'll go to the Bernina place
and get them to demostrate the feet. Maybe
after the 1st of the year. I have been enjoying seeing your projects and your lovely scarfs. Have a Happy Holiday!
