I helped one of my friends straighten out her new shop re-arrangements today. I had fun all day and just loved handling all that rich and wonderful Japanese fabric, smoothing it out and stacking it right way up.

Much later than usual, I raced home and cooked our dinner - rather nice it was, too. We were relaxing by the TV, watching the news when I chanced to look at my left hand.

GASP!!!!

'My nail's gone!'
DHDon caste one of his silent glances my way.
'Mr Pointer, Left Hand, has lost his nail!!!'
More silence.
'I know it was there when I began to chop the onions..................'

Now I'm wondering what a fingernail looks like, maybe tastes like, when it's been sauteed with onions and simmered in savoury mince for an hour.... :}
Think I'll just slip off quietly into my sewing room for a while......

Very funny Alma! A little bit of Bear Grylls in you? Re Japanese quilt fabric - have to agree that most of it is simply stunning. I made one for my sis-in-l and it was a simple design made spectacular by the fabric!

Alma, it was that really crunchy bit in the middle of the mince. LOL. Hugs Sally

Dear People - thank you for the sympathy and all those words and wisdom.
Yes, Shirlene, my finger is fine - just has a very short finger nail.

BTW..... the Japanese fabric is just superb, so pretty, so elegant. One of our quilting class ladies has only been quilting since March and she has already made several very beautiful quilts from this fabric. She's a 'purple lady' and her quilts are heirloom quality. She made a big queen size quilt for her daughter for Christmas. It's going to be professionally quilted.
OH... to be so organized.

Sorry Alma this has made me laugh, sorry. You have added extra calcium to your meal and it was probably a little crunchie...
Lucky you dealing with the Japanese fabric, my idea of heaven
