Hi Betty, I have used clear vinyl on a table mat set. I think these designs would be machine washable cold definetly no dryer!

I figure put those designs on things that you will not be washing, like tote bags, back packs, purses, etc. The same with Mylar designs.

I wouldn't recommend using plastic or vinyl over the top of any embroidery.
Anything with a covering of plastic or vinyl over it will take a lot longer to dry, especially if you put it on a quilt or wall hanging which has got 3 layers of fabric- the top, the wadding and the backing. If it does not dry properly it will rot.
Both also sweat. That means the embroidery and fabric under the plastic or vinyl will remain wet for quite some time, and eventually rot as well.
Can you imagine what this does to the embroidery and fabric?
Plastics and vinyls will also become dry and brittle.
All you hard work down the drain!

If you use vinyl they will wash fine. I use lukewarm water and dampdry on gentle in dryer-though hang drying proably would be better

Thank you, I used the heavy plastic that you would cover a table with. Came out nice. Hope it keeps its shape. Betty
