joann13100 asked about how many bobbins you all have.

My question is -- how many spools of different color threads do you have. It is in the 100's if I include regular sewing thread, emb. thread and serger threads.

I suppose I should log on more often. :( Since I have all machines covered and "resting" until after the Holidays.... I haven't been on here much.

To answer a question someone posted on this subject... I use Gutermann and Coats and Clark for my regular sewing and whatever serger thread is on sale.

100's all told, but does anyone else buy 4 of each color at a time? My daughter and I have this thing, we buy 2 of each color for ourselves, and 2 for each other, that means we often buy 4 of each color at a time. Why 2...in case. :)

I think I have about 300 spools of Floriani, another 100 Metro, another 100 Polyneon and would you believe, I don't have any regular thread! I do have lots of wonderful bobbin colors, but I usually buy prewound white bobbins. I love all my thread colors! They make me drool :-)

I'd love to know what brand of "regular" sewing machine thread people use. I really should buy some.

The regular thread that I use most is Gutermann and Coats and Clark.

OK - I have 100 spools ME (my first) fr Threadart, 152(got an extra off white and a black) ME (recently gotten) Metro, and about 7 misc. ME (mettalic and neon). I have just over 100 cones for serger and reg. and then I have about 200 spools reg thread (I got a whopper of a deal long time ago so over the yrs. have used a lot of it to do top stitching - really sets things off). Whew! Didn't realize I had that many until now! Good thing I only have about 200 of reg. spools now as I had prob. about double that when I got that lot!

Now this is where I am at the back of the line.

I have about 150 ME spools of thread all told.
I bought the set of basic 66 Metro threads last year which boosted my lot - I love this thread and so does my HVDII. Before then I had a set of 18 Madeira threads, used only for very, very auspicious occasions and a motley assortment of cheaper threads My one and only 5000 metre spool for my FSL table runner is superb. My serger owns five sets of different colours = 20. My regular sewing threads span about 60 years of work, so counting the nearly-finished ones I'd have about 50 of them.
Oh My Goodness!!!!!!!! I've got way more than I thought I had.
I've just been jolted to 'count my blessings'!!!! :}

I did not count them, but there are a lot. The complete Madeira range of colours in rayon (in 1000m spools) + variegated colours, the holographic ones etc (in 200m spools) and the whole range of Marathon in polyester, including the variegated. Then some cotton (about 40) and the special colours of dull sheen polyester that came with the Pfaff Hummels. And then there are the 5000m spools of much used colours. And a collection of metallic threads. And quite a few of other brands.
They do take up a lot of space.
And the of course there's regular sewing thread and serger thread, but fortunately far less than embroidery threads!

At last count I had over 500 spools of hemmingworth embroidery thread, but some are doubles and tripples of my most commonly used colours.

I have too many to count, however my cotton that I use for embroidery from threadconnection started with 82 colors and now they are down to 64 colors, they are "matching thread to fabric they now sell. I make my own fabric! lol :) Live Laugh Download Stitch!

I have a much cheaper pretend "Brother" set of 61 and then 6 each of black & white plus about 20 rayon that I first started with all about 1/2 full, and then another full set of pretend brother has just arrived today... just in case I run short. xx

Well...I have all the Isacord thread colors, many sulky, some YLI, and a bunch of misc. embroidery threads. So, I have several hundreds. My reasoning is "it's better to color with a box of 64 crayons than a box of 8." I have to justify them....LOL

Ah, well now that is a totally different matter if I am reading this as 'how many reels of thread do you have?' I have not got a clue but its a lot. I am too busy sewing at the moment to even think about counting them...

Hundreds, I keep buying it on sale. At least I don't have hundreds of bobbins yet. I have polyester and rayon. I'm not counting the sewing thread and serger thread.
