A friend of mine is having a problem getting floppy disks for her machine. Anybody with a floppy disk machine have any ideas?

I have a Babylock machine that uses floppy disks. My dealer told me there are CD players that will work in place of the floppy disk drive for my machine. Just another thought. H&*

You can still find them at Office max, Office Depot or most any other office supply store. The older discs, ( I found out the hard way), may become demagnetized and may lose all stored data. I would try to get new ones if you can.

Thrift stores are a good alternative too.

Good luck, Bonnie

You can purchase an external floppy drive at specialized computer stores. The price at Tigerdirect is fairly reasonable. She may already have a drive, I don't know. The disks can be found at Total Media for a reasonable price. If it were me, I would buy as many as I could afford while they were to be had as they are becoming so difficult to find. Just a thought.

I had a friend that downloaded her designs on CD's, then took them to Radio Shack to have them transfered to floppies. She said it wasn't very expensive.

I do! I found a whole bunch of them at Goodwill. Have her check the thrift stores! I bought 24 of them for just $2!

some of the office product stores in Aust still have them. I asked family & friends and ended up with about 200 used ones. Took a few hours to go through them and format them but well woth the time. Haven't had any problems with them. Good luck. xx

I don't think they make them anymore but occasionally some are for sale on Ebay. You might also try a Salvation Army or Goodwill store.

Sewing machines use the 3 1/2 in diskettes, the 1.4 Mb ones (not the earlier ones with half the capacity). I hang on to the diskettes that were used for things other than embroidery designs as they are getting harder and harder to get.

thank you, I didn't know what size, I have never used a floppy
