I gave my self a gift.... I cleaned my hoops.. what a job.. they were so fuzzy from many years of use.. took 2 hours to clean 6 different hoops.. they look so good now.. I wish there was a really easy way to get that sticky spray off.. and why can't we spray the fabric instead of the stabilizer?

Lots of good suggestions - will have to give some a try. Thanks for mentioning it!

I find the best product to use for cleaning anything sticky is "Windowlene" - that's what you clean windows with. In a nutshell it is ammonia. I use it to wipe down sticky tupperware, takes off price tags too. Try a grubby tupperware lid and it looks like new, I am sure it will work for your hoops too. Spray on, wipe with a cloth and rinse.

I just wash mine in dish soap and water. It cleans them up with no trouble.

Will have to try the men's aftershave. I've been using goo gone.

I use the Goo Gone and let them soak a few minutes before trying to wipe off. I love the shaving cream idea. Will have to use that next time :-)

I soak them in warm water and Dawn dish soap if they get really bad. I wipe them with a baby wipe in between to keep them cleaner.

I make a frame out of newspaper but I still manage to get some on the hoop. I've used both Goo Gone and Goof Off but the lady at the sewing machine shop told me she uses mens after shave. She says buy the cheap stuff, it cleans the hoops and they smell nice too.

I use GOO GONE on mine, just spray them, let them sit 10 minutes, wipe with a paper towel and wash in soapy water,
easy as 1, 2, 3

Have you tried that orange GOOP stuff?

or make a cardboard "frame", outside dimensions larger than your hoop, the hole in the middle slightly smaller than your hoop ... easier to throw away the cardboard and make a new frame than it is to clean your hoops (or use WD-40 on the hoops)
