Thank you everyone for all the help and ideas, I turned it all vertical and everything worked out this time into 2 separate files but I am going to try katrinasheffields sugestion about splitting. If I can get this to work that will be so great since I have only used that hoop maybe twice since I have owned it.

Ok - I just did this again.... click on the "freehand select mode tool" and then go to your design and click in the upper left corner of part 1 of your design. Draw a straight line across and click again. Continue drawing lines to make a square around part 1 of your design. When you get back to the beginning double click. Chose edit split. It should make this part of your design turn to a different color. You should see over on the right that you now have 2 different parts. Select "save separated as" to save both parts. Test stitch. Good Luck. I'm testing mine now!!

Try putting the words vertically, rather then horizontally.
Christmas might be a bit to big to fit in horizontally.
You can't have the design going all the way across.

This is making me crazy!!!!! I have Merry Christmas on 2 rows and a design, Christmas goes all the way across both sides, everything else is saving fine but Christmas is not saving at all. I located the word so it should separate fine but no. I am using embird

You are talking about digitising clipart?
What digitising software do you use?
The Giga Hoop is equivalent to 2 B Hoops. When you digitise clipart for the Giga Hoop, you will need to do it in 2 sections, side A and side B.
Then, when you save it, it will save as a Giga Hoop designs.
It might take a little bit of fiddling to get it right.

I just purchase a used Janome and have been trying to use their software to no avail... I can't do it either - I ended up using Embird to do it.... The process tho is rather simple. You select the portion that you want to be on the left and scooch it left. Then select the portion for the right and move it right. It will be separated and there will no longer be a "middle" section. It will then save as 2 separate files.

As I said tho - I had to do it in embird because I can't get the Janome software to do it for me - but I've only messed with it for about an hour - and then I gave up.

Hope this helps a little...

i believe that you are talking about the gigga hoop that you use split designs on. this is the hoop that you sew out half the design and then turn the hoop to sew out the remaining design.
if so the reason is is not sewing the section of the design is because you have overlaped the design
read the instructions and you will see how its done
the two halves are butted together but not overlaped. i hope this will help you. some designs cannot be split to be used in this manner FSL is one of them.
