Found crushed Walnut Shells for a lot less at my local pet store!The quilt shops charge a lot for this.Use as weights for pin cushions etc.

Sounds like I should save my walnut shells and crush them for this purpose. We buy nuts for Christmas and I nver thought of using the crushed shells for weights for pin cushions and other things. Thanks for the neat idea!

These are crushed smaller than grains of rice to prevent edges from cutting into fabric.I also found them at HARBOR FREIGHT here they are sold for sandblasting paint off items before they are painted.Visit a quilt store(not just fabric shops for new ideas. You'll be surprised at what the difference is.

Would these work for a microwaved heating bag, instead of rice? Has anybody tried it?

I would hesitate with the oatmeal(bugs)Have never tried heating them.
