I’m very inspired! I love the way you did the embroidery on the sleeves. It makes all the different it the world. Did you put a zipper in the front of the sweat shirt?
The jacket is lovely! It will beautiful to wear through the winter months. Fantastic job!
WOW!!! This is fabulous!!! Your friend did a marvelous job! Love the embroidery that you did also. Thanks for sharing this. I love redesigning sweatshirts, lots of fun. Just saw a segment from Nancy's Notions on PBS where Mary was showing you how to make different sweatshirts. Again, thanks for showing this.
This is beautyiful - and what a good friend to find just tyhe right collar and cuffs for this., Now, with the 85 degree weather we are having here in Florida - might be too warm to wear.
This certainly should take some kind of a prize. I nominate your jacket for the best of show for 2011. Love it, such imagination! Hope you get lots of compliments wearing your beautiful jacket. Betty
So pretty. Guess I will have to try this again. I used to make them but have not done it for so many years.
This truely does not look like a sweatshirt!!More like boiled wool - the embroidery looks so rich and the collar and cuffs are the greatest finishing touch I've seen in along while. WOW!! Please share pictures of the back and some helpful hints on the collar and cuffs. This is amazing!
WOW - wished I had a friend that would help me out - like this - stunning embroidery work - whose design is this?
Very very nice. Looks very elegant with the collar and cuffs. Cindy B.
This is just beautiful jenne - I bet you look great in it. Love and blessings Chris
It's really beautiful. Wow, the collar & cuffs are fantastic. It's hard to believe this started out as a sweatshirt!! Well done!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the collar and cuffs!! That is my style!! What a neat idea taking apart a sweatshirt and redoing. It is gorgeous!!
Stunning...but just how did you do the collar and cuffs? Also love the designs...can you advise where they came from? I know so many Cuties would love to know!
A lovely, festive jacket. I like the collar and cuffs, must have been a very special yarn to get this great result!
Yes I know this yarn but this is a very good result. She did a fab job-maybe 2 strands at a time to get is so full. One
of the best projects I've see with this
yarn.
When I use this kind of wool, I use another thread of ordinary wool to match the colour and it gives it a lovely full result. Hugs Yvonne
Love this jacket. Have the directions to make them but hesitant to start. Now you have given me the inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
Your friend did a lovely job one the color and cuffs. Very nice.
Back of jacket
I would love to see the back of the jacket. Do you have a tutorial or a link to one that you may have used for this? I really want to make on but do not know where to start. Thanks and Merry Christmas....
First I started with a sweat shirt and took it completely apart, even the sleeves
then using my favorate jacket pattern I cut it out and resewed it stablizering the front with Iron on interfacing and along the hem line then match the fabric with 3" bias binding fold this in half as you would a quilt, I put a regular facing on the neck cut from scraps of the sweat shirt hand stitch the binding and hand sew the collar and cuffs to the jacket add shoulder pads and hooks and eyes.
Love it that you combined different textures. Great job on the sewing and your friend is amazing to do the kitting for you.
