Looks like a Christmas cactus on steroids!! I've seen some large ones, but not this large!! It's pretty!
My guess, it IS a Christmas cactus, as I have a variety much smaller in my sunroom, here in Georgia (USA)! But, we all know everything is BIGGER in Texas!!
Hugs,
Angel
Oh, I don't think a Christmas Cactus - but pretty regardless.
Is the pink part a flower or the fruit that formed after the flower died? To me it looks like a relative of the prickley pear which is a noxious weed here
WOW what a cactus I don't know what kind but it sure is pretty May be I can get you to mail me a start in the spring I love Cactus
Thank you for all the responses and flowers to you all! Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year to You all!
I am doing what I need to for my back, so hopefully I won't have to many issues with it while I'm on vacation and I'm enjoying the dancing and beautiful weather!
Looks like a Christmas Cactus to me but then mine blooms at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas - so one never knows...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours...and take care of that back...hugs Glenda x0x0x0
I don't think it's a Christmas cactus. It doesn't grow as far North as Austin, that's for sure. It looks like it has spines, does it?
Well in my pot it is a foot high and it looks the same i love this plant ,i wish i could grow one in the snow lol hugs carolyn
This is in Donna TX (thr Victoria Palms RV and Resort) near McAllen. I also saw some Pointsettias that are this tall as well.
Dito! It is very big. Don't know that I have seen one so large before. Wish mine would stay alive and grow so nice with beautiful blooms. Flowers to you.
From the bloom - I would guess a Christmas Cactus. But it IS the biggest I have ever seen.

My guess is a Christmas Cactus, but it is the biggest one I've ever seen!!! It sure is beautiful and full of blooms. I love those, but always kill them, not intentionally, but dead just the same. Hugs & Blessings, Judy in Amarillo
