Sis, was laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I think you could have written the scripts for the "I Love Lucy" shows. Send me the recipe for your Cherry Cake, think my bunch would love it. Hope you have a blessed Christmas and don't eat too much.
Love n Hugs, Sis
No I don't think so Sis.
It was a Christmas Fruit cake, I can't stand cherries but I put some in because it is traditional, I always pick them out of my piece of cake. :-)))
Makes a change from finding a coin! Just make a game out of it and whgoever finds the chain cxan bee the ueen or king of the day (or do the dishes!)
Hope you found the missing piece ok, at least it was only the safetychain not the actual bracelet. New meaning for gold in the teeth. LOL hugs Helen
In the UK it is traditional to hide coins in the Christmas pudding - you could pretend that it was deliberate!
And here I thought I was the only person on the planet that stuff like that happened to... LOL! Its nice to know that I'm in good company.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, too.
Liz
When I was growing up, my mom or my aunt would put a toothpick in to the cake once it was baked and before it was frosted. No one knew exactly where the toothpick was. So when the cake was served, the person who got the toothpick got the "award" of doing the dishes. That happened when ever we had cake. So maybe you can just start a new family tradition. :) Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself and carry on. Either that or name the cake 24 karat gold cake (or what ever metal the bracelet consisted of. Humor!! It helps in life and eases the pain!!!! I bet you find that this is the best cake you ever make.
Gee Meganne. Can't you stay out of trouble? Good luck finding that piece. You could send me a piece of cake. I have tooth that could use a filling. :)
Not laughing just being so glad this didn't happen to me, hope you didn't have a mess to clean up and so glad you found the piece of chain instead of someone while eating your cake.
Meganne, Maybe chain instead of the old coins we used to get. If you don't find it you will have to tell everyone to chew 50 times before they swallow.
A little gold never hurt anyone! That is too funny! What else is on the menu!
LOL! At least it is gold, so it will not poison anyone, remember the old currency and our parents used to use the old silver coins in the puddings ....my mum kept them long after we went to dollar and cents. good luck straining.... Hugs Sally
Too Funny! Sorry, sounds like something from "I Love Lucy" Just call it lucky cherry cake!
Hugs and a very Merry Christmas!,Nadyne
ha ha. My mum used to bake a penny and then a 2 cent piece into here Christmas pudding The person who found it got to keep it.
Well, good luck with that, hope you find the chain and don't have to start over! It'll be a Very Merry Cherry Cake!
Hope you are lucky to find the missing piece quickly. Maybe if would be quicker to cut your losses and start that job again! Merry Christmas! Hugs, Lidia
Why didn't I read what I had written? "Maybe it would be quicker to start that job again..."
laughing my butt off at that one! Good luck straining the cake mixture! OOh! it's going to be sticky. Love and blessings Chris
Thankfully it was only the butter, sugar and egg mixture, very messy but I found the missing piece and MIL got to lick the plastic strainer. LOL!!!
Laugh a minute at this house. :-)))
Oh dear. Sounds like one more good reason why I try to avoid cooking! Good luck finding the missing piece.
Meg, I do wish you luck dear - that would be a nightmare - not a movie. Hehehe!
