We have just had the most wonderful night.
First I got my Christmas cake in the oven, then while it was cooking Ray and I went to our first street Christmas get together. We met lots of our neighbours, had a few drinks and lots of conversations and they're a pretty nice bunch of people.Then Ray and I went late night shopping to pick up some groceries and make a start on the grandkids' Christmas gifts.
It was lovely going out on such a balmy night, everyone at the shopping centre seemed to be in great spirits and it was a lovely experience.
There was a new shop there filled with nothing but Christmas trees, decorations, lights etc. It was so beautifully set up and the things for sale there were all so gorgeous and good quality, it reminded me of the wonderful Christmas stores you all have there in the States. It was truly lovely and I felt like a little kid, running from one thing to another, trying to take it all in.
I'm going back there tomorrow just to have a better look at everything, especially the most beautiful Nativity scene I have ever seen, I would really like to buy it if it is within our budget.
Just wanted to share my new found happiness with you all.
Today is the 24th December and it is my Tidgy Girl's seventeenth birthday, I am so happy because she has survived to reach it.
Every day I have with her is a gift I cherish because each day could be her last, I think this is how we should be with those we love because the world would be a better place if we could.

234500Hi Meg, just finished the cookies for the kids. I've done everything else and just have to bake the ham tomorrow. I have a huge Turkey Buffe in Mum's fridge and I'll collect her tonight for midnight mass. I'm singing O Holy Night and then home to rest. I'm buggered I pruned all Mum's roses today with a hedge trimmer. My poor arms! Have a great day tomorrow. Love Chris

The only shopping I did was looking for Best Buy gift cards for our sons and their ladies to give to my youngest brother. Everything else is money except for I beaded bracelets for my Mom, no gifts allowed anymore by Father's orders but I always have something to slip Mom, even if it is just an embroidered kitchen towel, I think Dad understands.

You night and fun with Ray sounds like heaven - Rick hasn't been out of the house in months - I can't even get him in the car - these days - just a drive with him - might be fun.

Oh Sue, does it every stop raining in England? LOL!!! My only holiday there, it rained 20 days of our 22 day visit! But I loved every minute any way. :-)
